You might read the reports page, there has been some problems with boat inspections. Our bass club changed a tourny from Cachuma to another lake because of the inspections.
Have Fun, Tom
Let us know how it goes.

Like you need help Kelly... The bite has to be better than at Topstick. I'd throw the jig or buzzbait if I ever go back there again..

during the top stick I was using a gold salt and pepper tube with a 1/4 oz weight and split shotting a yamamoto watermelon with red flake spider grub, at one time the flip bite was pretty good with sweettbeavers but that bite slowed down, I know for a fact some blade fish were to be had but cover a lot of water.

have fun and the weather should be great.

3/4 or 1oz. Bass Pro Shops Tungsten spoon, 3/4 oz. Silver Buddy with Red front hook. Whatever you do stay off the hump in Johnson, and the concrete foundations off pump-house point. There are no fish there.........Come to think of it, stay away from thr Santa Cruz break in 50-60 ft and the Cistern!!

Have fun, should get Red-Ear, Crappie, as well as green and brown fish..

wind was managable. We started with a pair of smallie's mine was legal..One more smallie and then the biggest carp my friend had seen and he grew up on the lake. Sure was a freight train on my 6 foot GLX and fresh 12 pound...Then I stuck another carp that was only 15-18 pounds....That's two carp :? ...we catch a few more smallie's and one largemouth split for lunch yada yada...buddie sticks a carp 15-18 pounds. When we were driving up I remarked that one of us would catch a carp or big catfish...He said he'd never caught one....we catch 3 today. We did find the largemouth when god turned the volume up on the wind machine so we bailed at 2. All in all we did well enough by cachumas new standards..

I suppose the other part of my trip was a different post as I didn't much like what I saw at Ol' Cachuma.
