Good and Falcon Lake?
Most of the places are pretty comparable. Old and small. We took an RV and stayed at a pretty convenient place, Lakeshore Resort. The State park is nice as well. Only problem there is it is a long way from town. If there is not a big tournament the weeks you are going I would play it out when you get in town. Look around and make your choice

That depends on your definition of "good" . There are two newly remodeled places that I can't remember the name of Executive Suites may be one of them the other may be Comfort Inn . As you come into Zapata on your left is one and the other is on your right as you cross the bridge. They are NOT the Ritz but they're clean have pools etc and places to plug in your boat.
Bring lots of snacks with you the food leaves something to be desired, edible but not much more. Beware the Dairy Queen. The fishing is awesome!!!!!! My wife even caught fish all day, a first for her.
Have a great trip.

I would recommend staying at the Sunbridge Inn or Holiday Inn. I stayed at the Sunbridge Inn for the stren series this year. It is a newer hotel in Zapata located right next to the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn was about 20 bucks more per night, but personally i thought the Sunbridge was not bad at all for the price.
As far as eating goes, one recommendation I can make is getting the 99 cent breakfast tacos at the big Valero gas station located right on the main road, across from Churchs chicken and another fast food joint. They are damn good.
