Well, we finished the first two days of Stren out here at Lake Roosevelt. Wow, what a lake. Can I say trees/bushes. It is unreal...10s of thousands of trees to throw in to and get wrapped up.

This is one amazing lake. The weather really screwed up the fish and the slot limit is something to contend with....tons of slots were caught and very few limits were brought to the scales. The way it works is you can catch as many 12-13" (under), one 13-16" (slot)and as many 16" (over) and over to fill your sack. The "overs" are very hard to come by!

Derrek made the top 10 and will be fishing tomorrow...good luck man!!

Derrek, congrats on a great finish...you moved up a few places with some very tough fishing conditions and boaters. Great work!!

Sorry you missed the Fed tourney, but I guess it paid off :).

Scott, guys thanks for the encouragement. I’m still here in AZ and just saw your post.

2009 FLW Stren Series Western Division event number two Lake Roosevelt Arizona, Co-Angler. There was a field of 148 Pro’s and Co’s. Scott is right; Lake Roosevelt with small mouth and large mouth bass has a slot limit that can be difficult to contend with. It is not as difficult to catch slot fish all day, but you can only weigh one slot, usually the bass will measure 15 ½â€
