I can never get these videos to run...maybe its quicktime but isnt divx a diffrent format?

What's with the harp music and I can't hear him talking? Is that happening to anyone else?

I just ran them both again, with no problems, QuickTime and DivX. I gave the webmaster a call to have him look at it.

It isn't a harp. If you can hear the music then you should be able to hear Randy's voice as it's several times louder then the volume of the music that stops thirty seconds or so into the video.

Everyone - I just made sure that we have the latest encoding for Quicktime and Divx. I also checked the videos that were posted and they run fine on my machine (Mac) and my office mates PC.

If you have a problem viewing any of the formats, there are links on the help page as well as the front page of WBTV with links to the updated quicktime and Divx environments. If you are still having problems after following the instructions on the help page, let me know (either email or PM) and I will see what I can do to assist you.

I don't think that's a harp, sounds like a ukulele. Sounds like Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's ukulele actually. Was one of the greats over in Hawaii.

Score one for Otay Michael. It is indeed bruddah Iz's ukulele. I'm a huge fan of acoustic guitar, ukulele and mandolin and every now and again it shows up in the music track on these videos.

maybe my machine doesnt have something...it plays youtube, and truebass video well, but can seem to manage on quicktime 7.

I watched with no probs.

A lot of times, once we get someone on the phone, we can sort through their troubles and get the videos running. It's all about getting your computer set to accept what it wants to run.

We are in the process of converting all video files over to include a third format, .wmv or windows media file. Once that is done we think that most folks, i.e; PC users, having issues streaming these videos should be able to easily play the new format.

Again, all computers should be able to run both QuickTime and Divx if the proper files are present and your computer is set up properly. The Help Page should be able to get anyone with the proper software up and running.

Right now it just takes time to convert hundreds of videos and build the pages to accommodate. We're closing in on conclusion of that work. There's been three of us working OT to get this done. Thanks to Lee and Roger for their effort on this project.

Once we're done WesternBass.TV will display all files in QuickTime, DivX and Windows Media formats and Bassfishingtv.com will display in DivX and Windows Media only.

I was able to play the video fine.
Audio- Music came in stereo
- Voice was only out of left speaker.
I was using QuickTime

That would be the way it's set up to run right now. If I'm filming with remote microphones, the audio comes in on the left only, and I haven't found an adapter yet to make that work on both left and right as of yet. If we're filming using the on-camera mic then we can get both left and right going but the guy we're filming has to be directly facing the camera to pick up good audio. Many times the anglers back is to me and he's speaking away from the camera, so that's why we wire them up. When we drop music in on the track it comes through both speakers.

It's all being done a minimal budget but we didn't not want to do it because we couldn't afford high end equipment.

WHAT MUSIC Randy talks music to my ears with all his great info, funny how easy I forget when I'm slinging the 2 & 3 pounders, prehaps I should write these things down and place in front of my boats steering wheel as a reminder why I shouldn't stop every where cuz I can. first let me say that I appreciate westernbass for providing an informational video, but can we have someone else besides Randy Pringle do a couple? I have a hard time taking that guy serious and it would be nice to hear/see a different angler giving tips other than Randy. I've seen him a few times at shows and it's always the same thing, talks way too much to the crowd and try's really hard to be funny and to flirt with the girls. Never really learned anything valuable from him. I just have a hard time taking him serious and I personally would be more likely to watch/listen to the videos if they weren't all done by Randy. Just my .02 cents

If you download the file before attempting to watch it you should be able to watch. It may well take a long time to download the file though as they aren't small.

Gator might know better.

We've got over a hundred videos online from forum users like Cooch, Johnny C, Rich Thiel, and so on. And there's video in there from a lot of other tournament pro's and guides. ISE seminars from years past and Bass-a-thon guests.

Recently we've stopped production on videos as we have been focusing on converting the files to new formats so more people can more easily watch them. It didn't make sense to keep adding videos to the pile that would need to be converted. That conversion is drawing to a close. We also had to revamp al of the .tv web pages to accommodate the new three format set up.

Randy and I schedule shooting well in advance each year. He's been great to work with. I understand he might not be your particular cup of tea, and there's nothing wrong with that, but we do get many positive comments on his work with us as well. We'll start doing more filming for the site once we've got it reopened with the new pages and formats. when that time comes we'll be working with more anglers as guests.

We also accept user supplied programming for WesternBass.TV. If you take the time to put a video presentation together, we'll air it for you on our pages. Anyone interested in doing that need only get in touch with me.
