I went out for a spur of the moment fishing trip with my dog. Withing ten minutes I nail this huge spot.. it was 18 inches and a huge belly on her. I did not have a scale.. I hate scales on my boat they are bad jew jew. Worse than banannas

I'd say around 2.5lbs. Spots tend to be a little deceiving. Nice fish no matter how much it weighed. When you get one better than mine out of Oroville (15.48lbs), then you know it's a big one

In relation to the rod handle that fish is about 15" so it weighs between 1 3/4 to 2# :)

Hey 492 slayer, that fish would be 5# over the world record spot, I would like to see the picture of that fish

I was thinking the same thing. Unless that rod has an odd length handle, there's no way that fish went 18". He must have gotten his photos mixed up. I'm sure the real fish was as big as he remembers.

No you are wrong http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bass ... b_shishido

10.27 is the WORLD RECORD spot.

That is close to 3 maybe 3.2 pounds. Our biggest spot was 6.2 on certified scales from the Red River in Louisiana.

The 15 he caught was definitely not a spot! It was a LM.

And to the thread starter, the fish look around 3lbs or so. Nice spot what ever it weighed.

I know what a little 2-3 lb fish looks liand feels like. This fish is over three lbs no matter what some of you guys may think. I guess the pic just did not do it justice.

The question is....

The picture does it justice just fine. Atleast if you have caught and weighed in spots that size at Oroville. 2 of those a day and three 2 lbers and ya got a winner.

So, 19" but it looks very, very, very flat. Guess therefore is 1 9/10. :D

But for mine I don't guess, I've got that new invention called a scale so I would not have to go thru this trying to see if I have a new pb for this or that fish. :?

Thank God I'm not supersticious... ladders, scales, odd days of the week, mirrors, black cats, bananas, or what-not.

My guess is 3 1/2.
This one was taken from Oroville I got two back to back on a punker that looked like clones. They were close enough to call em 4lbers

I guess I should have said mine was a largemouth  I've caught 3 LM over 10lbs out of Oroville (10,12,15+), but my biggest spot out of Oroville was just under 6lbs. Usually the heavier fish look like footballs, not always just in length from my experience. A 3+ is pretty damn good now days, and being that I wasn't there to see the fish live, won't say it wasn't :)

It looks like a 17 or 18-incher if you look at the rod, tape, and fish. The first photo you burnt the rod butt and the second photo you burnt the tape each about 1/2-inch but that washed out. Shasta has fish like that long with and a little plump. Her a...ss hasn't droped yet to get that football shape but still a nice fish.

at least a solid 2lb

2.25 to 2.75lb

A 19-20" spot with a decent belly, that fish probly went about 3.1 or 3.2

Nice sopt, especially for Oroville!

That is the same exact fish. When I layed it on the deck and took a pic you could not see the belly so I snapped a pic of the belly before I released it.. Thats why I posted the pic of the belly. Everyone who is saying 2-3 lbs are insane. I have cought millions of 2-3 lb spots in oroville. This is by far the biggest I have cought there I know this fish goes over 3 easy.

I no, I no, I no; jaw line pass the eyes and all that, but I can't see the jaw line in the belly pic. The belly on your first pic is as white as driven snow. The second pic looks like she was a working girl. Dude, I'm just saying no way that is the same bass unless you caught her 2-years later and she was on her bed aka... working girl. Thats what I call a bed fish "working girl"

Back and fourth I guess.. I believe it weights 3.5-4 lbs. I cought another one just like it they were both on specific areas of the lake on specific lure and a specific presentation.. for them to be cought for the tournaments coming up they will want osmething else and not bite ofcourse.

I hope not, I know trout get hurt by it.. I would think laying a bass on carpet would not be worse than putting it in a net.
