I AM NOT SURE BUT I DON'T RECOMMEND IT. I MAY HAVE BEEN THE UNLUCKY RECIPIENT OF A FEW OLD SPOOLS OR SOMETHING BUT IT DOESN'T HOLD UP LIKE THE BERKELEY TRILENE.

BMX you think they are OEM for this product, I doubt it. It would be interesting to find out who OEM's the line for them.

I know pflueger made there reels a couple years ago.. I don't know why they would not still be making them.. As for the rods I have no clue.. But they are good rods! Also the line.. I have no idea.

I haven't tried the new Berkeley 100%, but I've been using BPS fluoro for a few years now, and never had a bad batch.
It's abrasion resistent, relatively soft, good knot strength, and lasts a long time. Plus it's affordable.

I've been using the BPS for the past 6 months. I haven't had one issue with it at all, in fact I like it more than all the other brands. I couldn't tell you how bad I've beaten up the 14 with a Crank in the rocks, extremely resistant and VERY strong. And the 6 on a drop shot was smooth and strong as well.

I've been using Berkley Vanish the last few years mostly in the Delta and have never broken off a fish. From 8lb dropshotting to 20lb. flippin, I have never had a problem. It's all in how you set the hook and handle fighting the fish.
Berkley 100% Flourocarbon is by far the best Flourocarbon out there today. Berkley is one of the largest fishing companies out there and have the best equipment to make the best line period!

I can handle and set a hook on a fish very well.. Been fishing all my life. Any trilene line I have used is garbage imo.. Week brittle line. I thought I would give it a shot again with the Transition fluoro, GARBAGE becomes very brittle after a short time. I have used the regular fluoro too with the same results..
Maybe I get all the bad batches but either way that line sucks compared to any other line out there imo.

I don't know "who" makes the line. Noone manufactures their own line except Stren (which is Dupont). From what I have heard, line companies buy their mono or fluoro from manufactures and then create their colors, abrassion resistance, and overall qualities. I am very fortunate to have two line companies; Maxima and BPS. I use a majority of Maxima, both fluoro and mono, and I think they have THE best. I have had horrible experiences with Trilene (that is all my dad uses - and he has nothing but problems with it) - I try to get him to switch, but he is old school
Rods and Reels are made by Bass Pro...they send their specs to manufactures of parts and then have them put together. They are not made by Pflueger. Bass Pro does own the fishing division of Browning.....good stuff there too..

maybe, don't know that one....but again. You have to buy the mono from somewhere. just like the plastic that you use to make baits. You buy the base product and then tweak it from there. And if I'm not mistaken, everyone bought from Dupont and then did their own thing. Don't quote me, this is just what I have heard from some. It's tough to get the real "secrets"

Go ahead and try some GAMMA, i am sponsored by gamma, but i used it before then and if something did happen between us, i would still use it. The price is great, i think its 330 yds for 11.00 in the copolymer, and the flouro is like 20 bucks, but great line. Like brent said maxima is great line also. its all in who you trust.

Read the Tackletour review. The BPS flouro scores VERY high. 12lb breaks at 14 lb. Also its the diameter of 10lb. So you have a 10lb diameter line breaking at 14.
"back in the day" Everyone had problems with their flourocarbon!!

Someone on the TT forum said BPS fluoro is made for them by Toray.

I was told by a staff member that the line was made by Stern not sure about the rest. The person that told me that is very knowledgeable when it comes to our industry and it was when I was trying to figure out which line to use. I've been using the floro in the heavier lb test for two years and just started using it in the lighter lb test the past year and have had no problems with it

From Tackle Tour:
Industry insiders tell us all fluorocarbon lines are made in one of three factories in the world. Two of these factories are in Japan, the remainder is in Germany, and no, they are not created equal. If not, then what are the differences? This is what we set out to find.

Roger is right thier are only a couple of factories that make floro. the chemicals used to make this line is very bad ju ju so the locatation that make it are few, when I was with Cuda fishing line he was working with Brazil and Japan, the key thing is the formula only three places make it but the line compaines have there own formula's and they are usually top secret.
Stren was bought out by Berkley but from the what I was told they only bought the Floro formula.

BPS contracts their line, reels, rods to various off shore mfr's, depending on the product and the contracts change annually.
I don't know of any mfr extruding FC fishing line domestically.
DuPont (Stren) sold their domestic fishing line plant to the Vicious line company. Vicious is extruding mono nylon line in the old DuPont plant and claim they are making FC line in the same plant.
Making can mean relabeling product made to their specs.
The problem with FC line is quality control from batch to batch. Berkely Trilene FC suffered from that experience, maybe they have it under control now?
I have a real love/hate relationship with FC line; it's great when it good and horrible when it fails and you never know for sure what is going to happen the next cast.

Man Tom - you've gotten some
bad flourocarbon in the past then... I've never had a problem with the stuff I've used, and I use it on almost everything saltwater and fresh.
Usually it's even tough to break off the 6 and 8 pound test when you get hung up, as far as my experiences go.
Now, I'm mostly running braid on my casting and spinning reels, with flourocarbon leaders of various lengths and sizes , but also still have quite a few baitcasters spooled with flourocarbon alone.

The most consistant FC fresh water line has been Sunline Shooter & Sniper. I ue the Shooter for jigs and sniper for the 6 & 8 lbs applications. Berkley, Toray, P-Line, Blackwater, Sunline have all given me a lot problems. Salt water fishing; marlin and tuna, FC leader has failed several ways; splitting and breaking mid line and knots. Never had these type of issues with mono.
I had a 700 lb class blue marlin ready to tag when to line exploded into multiple strands. Fishing a night tournament, I had several bass break off during the hook set and watched one of them jump several times next to the boat trying to thow the jig... lots of fun. At night you tend to hook fish closer to the boat than during the daytime, the problem is you automatically hook set using the same force. I use KVD or TangleFree line dressing and know how to tie knots well, so thats not my problem, it's the line.
I have 8 baitcasters and 3 spinning outfits spooled with FC line because I believe I get more strikes using it and hope it doesn't fail.
