Curado 200e vs 300e - Speed

Gotten used to and love the 7:1 speed of the 200 ever since the DHSV came out. Feeling the need for a little more line cap and beefier reel. How much of a difference is the speed of the 300e vs. the 200e? I realize the 300e picks up 28" per reel turn and the 200e 30", but how noticeable is this difference? Anyone who has fished both willing to share their experience? Thanks in advance. NCD.

Oh, it is noticable, but are you willing to trade for the extra weight?
That can be an issue depending on what application you are using the reel for. This is obviously true for any reel, not just a 200 vs. 300.
I punch with my 300's and they are just fine. I use them exclusively for my punker and swimbaits as well.

Truth be told, this is for a Salmon rig. The extra weight is actually a positive in that it helps balance the 9 foot medium/heavy rod.

So now that I've outed myself for asking a Salmon fishing question on a Bass forum, can someone tell me how "noticeable" the difference in speed is between these two reels? Am I going to hate a 300 if I have fallen in love with the speed of the 200?

Hey, it's all good, fishin' is fishin', you just prefer ocean carp! har
Truth be said, I love to chase em' in the river too!

To answer your question though, NO, you will not notice a difference in that application to the degree you are concerned about. You will also be able to take full advantage of the larger drag as well.

Good catchin'
