Death of Fenwick Techna AV's?

I just noticed on the Fenwick website that they don't list Techna AV's in their product line up any more. Are they truly dead? Explains why Cabelas has been blowing them out (sold out on most models). Tackle Warehouse doesn't have them any more. I guess Fenwick wants to make the Elite Techs their flagship rods now? Too bad if the Technas are gone. I really like them. Will have to keep an eye out for some deals now.

You are correct. Fenwick decided to discontinue this line of rods this fall. They I believe going to expand the elite tech series. Its unfortunate because the techna AV's were really nice rods. I use a combination of the AVs and elite techs, each has some models that I prefer for specific tecniques. Buy them up while you can because they are dissapearing and they are not planning on bringing them back.

Well, I'm majorly bummed that the Techna AV's are no more. (Moment of silence; wipe away a tear)

I hope the expanded Elite Tech series proves to be every bit as good as the Technas. I have the ET topwater rod, and like that because it's exactly what I was looking for for that application. We'll see about the rest though. I wasn't too thrilled with the few other ET's I've seen so far.

Yeah, I'll keep an eye on ebay and some other places that still have Technas.

Thanks guys *sniff*
