What is the best swim bait rod thx

It all depends on what Swimbaits you are talking about.

-Dobyns 795SBMT: Osprey, Shell Cracker,Wood Punkers.........alot of bigger swim baits.

-Dobyns 736C: 6" Injects

-Dobyns 705C: Basstrix, Hollow belly's, Big Hammer.......ect

That is a loaded question...

Huds and big baits=Okuma
Ospreys and Punkers=Dobyns 795
5"-6.5" paddletails= dobyns 764 or lamiglas "swimbait special"

Tough question to answer but I use these.
1 Dobyn's 8'6"
2 Kistler 8'
3 G Loomis 2 BBR's both different and the bigger swimbait rod
1 Powell rated to 16 oz with 3" added to the butt for more leverage

Because there are so many types of swimbaits there are a range of answers.

The biggest swimbaits do well on the 807MAG Dobyns.
I've had this rod for a while now, but Its a bit overkill for 6" Hollowbelly baits or shad sized offerings......The 795 SBMT is a good choice overall.

I don't consider a Punker to be a swimbait, but I throw those on my 736c.

No one can give you an accurate answer unless you are more specific about the types/size of baits you want to throw, but I agree with most of the info already posted. Best bang for your buck...Okuma GS 711 series...best all around (as in ...if you could only own one) swimbait rod...Dobyns 795...most interesting recent release that I have yet to use...Okuma C3 series.
If you get serious at all about throwing swimbaits you will definitely need to own multiple rods as you really can't get the job done with only one tool.

sorry should have given more info I like to throw the 6 inch tour osprey and lunker punkers. I can't really afford the dobbins rods.

No doubt the okuma series in either MH or H

I've heard that the fig rig rods are really stout so i would go with the okuma.

I've heard good things about Powell and Okuma..they will definetly get the job done and are in your price range.

That said a Dobyn's 736c is a great frog rod, punker rod, and can do the 6" swimbaits well enough. a 735 might even be better. You can keep your eyes open and buy used..but seriously consider the upgrade, they have my full confidence.

orob your in the same boat as me I cant afford Dobyns rods to you might want to look into Powell rods. thats what i plan on buying for my swimbait rod

easiest way to find out is to ask people you know that have swimbait rods and try to cast and see what you like.

I personally love a MUCH more stout rod and at least 8ft in length. Any swimbaits I throw is ALWAYS a better bet becasue you will have much more control pulling the fish in the boat with less give.

My rods of choice are the Loomis BBR966... that rod is 8ft long, 25-40lb line. Its a brute! i throw all my hudds on this rod... might seem too heavy to a LOT of anglers but throwing the big swimbaits since the mid 90's...this size of a rod makes ALL the difference in the hookup and landing ratio!

I went and checked out alot of swimbait rods and all you guy's that said the Dobyns 795 is the best. Your all right that rod was bad *** good work Gary.

I love the FALCON Cara Swim Bait rods, American made and super strong

I live at Clear Lake so I use them allot.

One is the Cara Big Swim Bait Rod, I use it for anything over 7"
and the other is the Cara Med Swim Bait Rod, I use it for Lunker Punkers and anything under 7"

For the 5" Hippo Tackle Swimbaits I use the Cara Amistad
