I had heard that the proposal went through. I thought it didn't take effect for a few months though.....

It did pass on Dec 10.09, but you have to wear it as before til March 1, 2010, then you no longer have to display it. Takes a little time to go into effect, but at least they did repeal the regulation.

I dont think I ever wore mine since the rule went into effect many many years ago..

That rule was one of the most ASININE rules I have ever seen. Even when wearing it and was checked, the ranger still wanted to see it. Pointless... Another angle for Cali to make $$$.

Love the decision. Goes back to the logical way of doing things. But... this is going to hit the lanyard and clear plastic sleeve makers in the pocket just at a time the economy is supposed to be turning around! (sarcasm!)

What was the purpose of wearing your license anyway? So someone with binoculars could check people without getting out of their cars? I would say, hold the boat till I put my license on my pfd. Wait, its chilly, hold the boat while I move it to my jacket. Wait, hold the boat, this thing is whipping me in the face and about to blow off. What now? Stick it underneath but be prepared to whip it out if you see someone sneaking up.

In the billfold is much better, just like it used to be.

I always wear mine call it what you will but I have been fishing and forgot to put it on, remembered and put it on and started to catch fish, maybe its just the fishing gods looking out for me!!
