I am a plumbing QE in LV. The study method is the same questions asked over and over. It was ok but the study on my own was how I past the test. I think if you trust yourself you will know how you study best. Here it was open book.

Hey Don, I ordered the Peerless (spelling?) http://www.peerlessinstitute.com/ books when I took the test I studied them for about 3-4 weeks. When I took the test they gave 2 hours for the trade side and 2 hours for the Legal side. I was done with both in about 1 hour. The books give you the questions and answers they ask on the test. They are somtimes worded different than the book but have the same meaning. They were only about $90.00 for the books. Of course that was 15 years ago. If your good at studying do the books over the classes.

Don, I went to the California Contractors State Licensing School. They give you your class dates a couple days before your test date. One day to study the Law and one day to study the trade. That way its fresh in your mind when you take the test. You pay up front and if you dont pass you keep going to the class to study until you do pass. Its an easy test. The law stuff you will probably never use and the trade stuff is just simple basic questions. I got my General B license in 1999 and just had a buddy go thru the same school and pass.

you don't need to go to one of those schools . The contractors board will provide a study guide and you can study that, it's really easy. I would save my $ and use it on a new rod or reel.

I just took and passed my law test and my gen. B test on 1/14. I to went the contractors licsensing school. Cost me $309 for the study material and the two days of in class studing. Well worth the money. I would be sure to read the binder before your class. It will help you when you watch the vidoe on the law. They skip over alot of stuff so you will get lost when you following along. The test took me about a hour each because of the class.
