Havasu Mid March??

I’m planning a Havasu trip to get after some of those monster smallies. I have only fished Havasu during the summer but have heard the stories of spring smallmouth sight fishing.

I was planning the trip for the weekend of March 13. Do you guys think I'm hit or miss with my timing?

Also, can anyone can recommend somewhere to stay that will allow me to charge, and is near a good ramp?

I usually stay at The Springs near Parker but wanted to stay in Havasu this time.

Thanks in advance

James

You will hit the nail right on the head.

The spawn has already started at Havasu...I know this for a fact, But, Mid march will be one of the funnest times to go to Havasu. The spwan will be full blown and it will be a blast. Have fun!!!

I ran a power cord from my room to the water at the Nautical 2 years ago. They didn't care. They have their own launch as well.

London Bridge resort has slips with power, but I like my ride where I can see it from by room. 8)

I'll be there on the 28th for 5 days, I can't wait!

Fishing will be awesome then but there are a few tournaments going on that day so it will be chaos with tournament anglers just a heads up. MBC has a 2 day pro am and the NBW 2 day open is that weekend as well.

Just a note if your coming to Havasu for fun or a T , Windsor state park only has one ramp open so it can be a pain in the butt in the afternoon , was out on Havasu today and its fun.

Thanks for that update on the ramp conditions.

We will keep on top of that situation and see if there's a chance both ramps will be open by tournament time.

I would think with Easter/Spring break right after tournament time that there would be an effort to have both ramps open. With the way the economy is, we are just lucky that any launching facilities on Lake Havasu are open.

Do you know if the state parks along the Parker strip have closed due to budget restrictions? I hear River Island is closed.

Thanks again
