Anybody have any experience with these?

I've tried the jig/worm rod. Plenty of backbone and it's pretty sensitive as well. Seems a little heavier than some other rods on the market. Not a big fan of the yellow tho. Other than that not a bad rod in that price range. Just my opinion of them

I have the spinnerbait/worm rod. For the money it's a great buy, light and sensitive. I will buy more when needed.

I have them all and like them alot. they are a bit heavier but for the price you cant beat them.my favorite is the crankbait rod and jerkbait-topwater

For the money, check out the new ABU Garcia rods, they have a set in the $90 range and a new set in the $50 range. they are alot lighter than the skeet rods, (A Lot), and they have a nice feel to them when you are holding them. For the money they are not bad.

I have the Swimbait, Jerkbait and the Dropshot rods. You can beat the price. They are very sensitive and light and they all have a good backbone to them. I too will get more of them. Not sure which one I will get next, either the Flippin Stick or the Frog Rod?

REALLY?? I have a Vendetta rod and it's a club ... it's suppose to be MH, but ... a club. Tip heavy and all. I also have a Skeet Swimbait rod that I like better than the Vendetta rod.

what size baits are you throwing on the swimbait rod?

Check out the guide on the tip. The older rods had tips that had sharp edges that could damage your line. The newer models have corrected this problem. Just make sure the one you buy has the upgraded tip guide. Seem to be nice rods for the price. I would consider the spinnerbait rod and the swimbait rod.

for the price its not a bad rod at all. Sensitive for sure but a LITTLE too heavy to my liking. The backbone is nice...but again, just a little too heavy for what I like. Since fishing the GLX and IMX Loomis rods I have been spoiled!

Lami all the way good price good rod built in america..cant go wrong

I've got two and both have those old tips. Any ideas if you can get the tips warrantied and fixed or replaced? I've had my line get caught a few different times.

I had the same problem with my 8' flip'n stick and contacted Wright and McGill and got instant customer service from them!!!! Al contacted me via email and said he would send me a new tip or send me a new rod if I wanted to pay for shipping $30. Hell, I don't need a new rod, just tip. So he sent me the new tip and I am one happy customer!!! By the way, this just happened to me last week.

Unbelievable customer service and I am glad this thread just came up. It's nice to know that there is quality customer service out there still. Thumbs up for the rods and the service!!

try one of these rods. i got the Lamiglas excel 734. Used it for the first time seriously. I was pitching a 6 inch senko wacky rigged on 15lb test matched with my curado E7.

For pitching and controlling fish thisrod has plenty of power and a soft enough tip to not rip a thing. I really like this rod and they are lighter than the skeet rods. I would check them out!

Not at all impressed by these rods. Would be MORE than willing to sell my Swimbait/C rig rod. (And it has nothing to do with the color!)

Skeet was using the 7" Rago and Ospray on Clearlake ... works for him, works for me!

I guess Skeet does not even like his own rods for flipping because if you check out the "Duel at the Delta" when he was flipping he was not even using one of those rods..

The Crankin rod is excellent. Ya maybe a little heavy but if your arms are too weak to throw that rod all day then maybe fishing aint your thing. I would try knitting, those needles are fairly light. The cranking rod casts extremely well has great feel and more than enough back bone. If you dont have the money that some of these jerk-offs have then get a skeet rod, they are great for the price.

The Vendettas are ok at best.. its true though that they only have 1 action despite what the blank says. and thats heavy. I would say get the 7'6 for flipping and maybe for frogging. Looked like Iconelli was flipping with one of the Vendettas when he was on the delta.

GitBit or anyone, how do I know if it is the old model or the newer models. Because I'm planning on buying two of the flipping & pitching rods at Fisherman's Warehouse this weekend. Its a no sales tax. I just want to know and don't want to end up buying the rods with the defective tips and have to deal with having it changed out. How can I tell? Thanks in advance.

I saw the Lami come out at the Delta too My first flippin stick was a Lamiglass that was a bad azz rod..sometimes even when you are sponsored you have to dance with who brung ya cause it works and with confidence.. However he was flippin the yellow rods at Clear Lake so who knows its his game ..

Maybe it is just me, but I always see people talking about (good rod for 100 dollar range) such as this topic, but there is never that much talk about Powell rods in that range. I am not tied to Powell in any way, but with the recent drop to 140 bucks, I just cant see buying a 100 dollar rod when a top proven rod like these are only a few bucks more. Is it that people just have it in their mind that powell costs more then it really does? Just my 2 cents, but I have yet to find a rod even remotely on Powell's level for the price.

I think this post pretty much sums up EXACTLY what I was trying to say... comparing Powell to Dobyns and Loomis, but Dobyns and Loomis are much higher in price (on Average, I am aware Dobyns has a somewhat lower priced rod as well)

WTF? Why make a Swimbait rod rated to only 1oz? That is just crazy.

I think its a fairly conservative rating. I looked at the rod yesterday. I felt the tip could throw up to a 2oz bait or so without issue. Remember that Skeet wasn't marketing these for big baits. For a 6-7" plastic like the new Ragos or the Ospreys, I feel this rod would do quite well. And in rest of the country, where swimbaits are far less utilized than the Carolina rig, this a very useful rod.
