VT = verifying time. which is in GMT. To convert to local time subtract 7 hours (For the Pacific Coast).
So a VT of 00Z06MAY2010 is the forecasted weather for 1700 (5PM) 5 May here on the Left coast.

I use two different sources just to compare information. But usually NOAA is right on target with the forecast.
