I tried that trip once in December that Kent went on and I found out I could almost run on water, you would not believe how fast was back in that boat, My long johns did not get wet!. Did not take me long to check it out. :lol:

I am looking forward to the new video.

I would think someone has taken an Aqua View to the edge of that stuff and tried to look around. Not sure if the light penetration is too low to see, or what.....

I think it depends on what kind of plants you're dealing with. Lot's of the Elodea and Milfoil grow in large clumps all the way to the bottom, but even in this stuff, you can see tunnels or bass highways (mouth of duckpond is good example).
You know better than most people that the floating mats are open underneath and light penetration is dependant on thickness which can vary depending on wind direction.
I like the long stocky, leafy plants that are sparse underneath but lay over at the surface creating a roof. These are best for frogs too.
(But this is just my opinion, worth only $.01 during recession)

I must say, I certainly had my questions, and now have a much better understanding of what's down there. Keep an eye on MillerPunchinWeight.Com's video section, yer gonna see first hand what Danny & I did one day! LOL
