I NEED ADVICE FROM ALL OF YOU BASS SUPERSTARS!

I just bought my first brand new bass boat. Im totally stoked. Ive worked hard, backseated long enough and saved for a LONG time. The boat is at a dealer on the east coast. I am here on the west coast. Can anyone recommend a safe, reliable, quality shipping service? I would prefer if the boat and trailer were placed on a flatbed or better yet, inside the cargo hold rather than have it towed on its own trailer cross country.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I figured if anyone had any experience with this stuff, it would be some of the great fishing minds here!

Thanks!

Find yourself an SUV with a tow hitch, check the weather on your route....And go get it......

With the price of gas right now, you would save a fortune.

Use Joe at SES . Matt and I have been using him for machinery for 10 plus years. And like matt said all his boats too.

Why would anyone hire someone to ship it when Criss Angel can levitate the boat from the East Coast right before your eyes. Dumbasses!

Guys thanks for all of your replies. Any additional help would be appreciated. towing the boat on its own trailer is actually my last choice. Flatbed or cargo box would be my first choices.

Thanks for taking the time to volunteer some info.

Why would someone buy a new boat 3000 miles away without knowing how to get it home or how much money it will take to get it delivered?
Seems to me, unless money was no object, it would have been more prudent to have researched that before the purchase.

It's not that expensive to have a boat towed out this way.

What state is the boat in?
When will it be ready to be picked up?
I have drivers that deliver boats to me from back east all the time. Most of them haul boats for boat manufactures.

Another good place to try is uship.com , just check there feedback and references.

I could see putting up the cash for delivery if it penciled out on a smoking hot deal on a used boat, but it surprises me that it would make financial sense on a new boat purchase. Are the boat dealerships in So. Cal not able to compete with the East Coast dealerships on bass boats? And how would someone know if it was a good deal if they didn't know how to get it shipped or the expense involved?

Can you find a Triton dealer in the state of CA to sell you a brand new 2010 Triton 21 XS Elite with 250 pro xs for $39,000?
I doubt it but it can be purchased back east for this price everyday of the week.

Bassdaddy: Your opinion has been duely noted and after careful consideration, based on the fact that you have no idea what the hell you are talking about, your opinion has been deemed absolutely worthless. Thanks for playing.

In the future, please read what the thread is asking. If you can help, great, but your trolling is not appreciated.

Have a nice day.

TO EVERYONE ELSE, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD ADVICE.

This is VERY similar to what I did, just a different brand. Everything else you listed is pretty much the same.

Yep, 8 months worth of negotiation and work. Finally, they are going into winter. Very little bass fishing going on on the East Coast in Wintertime. I was offered a VERY unique opportunity and got lucky.

In defence of the Westcoast boat dealers, some times the cost of doing business out here is just more. California is a very expensive state to do business. We have higher taxes, workers comp costs, payroll, ect.... In this case though if you look long and hard enough there is always someone out there with a steal and after having a boat in your yard for a couple of years it needs to go. Sounds like this is the case. Even within the dealers in THIS state, always the best thing to do is purchase from your local dealer. Sometimes though different inventories and stocking product force consumers to travel at times. We all have a choice, thats why we live in America. Rick G.

there are a couple screaming deals out there on skeeters right now, FX20/sho and a 20i/hpdi. There are places and people dumping there boats/inventories.

I agree with what Rick said. Angler's is actually my local dealer and they were obviously my first choice. Nothing but good service from them and I am SURE I will buy my next boat from them. They just didnt have a boat to sell me compared to what I ended up with. If they had, I would have bought local for sure.

I was looking into getting a boat from out of state as well (used) but ended up finding one local that was exactly what I wanted. I would be curious what you end up paying for delivery.

So what are you getting into? Congrats on the new ride.

Jon
