The 2011 Won Bass Lake Shasta Pro/Am tourney finally launched our 47 boats at 9:00 AM. Conditions were tuff in the early AM, as we were all set for blast off at 7:15 AM, but with the heavy fog and light south winds, it was determined not to be safe for an early launch. Anglers were held back until a window of opportunity came up at 9:00. All four flights were then released and gone within 10 min. Our first flight weigh ins start at 3:00 PM. After the first days weigh ins, we will update you on the weights and day one standings.

Be Glad to have you. One angler at a time.... Is what I say. Good luck on your search. What type of work are you in? Never know who you know, or who might be able to help you.

Bill Mays just sent me some photos and a little update for the http://www.wonews.com blog update. If you take a look at the photos it looks soooo cold in that fog. Amazingly Billy Egan told me the fishermen were all in good moods and joking around waiting for the fog to lift. I guess that is why we call them pros! Thank God for great foul weather gear...
Here is a link to the photos http://www.wonews.com/Blog.aspx?id=1214 ... 20Coverage

There probably won't be much until the standing early this evening and Bill Mays will also have some more photos and a report.

Billy,

Thanks so much for the update. The number of boats is encouraging and the hard work is paying off. We will all get through this tough time eventually! Thanks from all of us on the sidelines! RR

Even with the short day, many anglers were able to find the fish and bring in five alive. Big fish honors for day one go to Richard Dobyns with a respectable 5.35 spot. Now for the unofficial top 5 for day 1.

1 - Mike Menne 11.97 - Last to weigh-in
2 - Paul Bailey 11.87
3 - Richard Dobyns 11.78
4 - Ken Phillips 11.23
5 - Jason Borofka 10.58
5 - Darrin Bishop 10.58

We will be posting the day 1 results shortly on our website http://www.wonbass.com

Congratulations to all the anglers that stuck it out this morning, and waited patiently for the fog to lift.

This mornings launch went off without a hitch, as the weather was clear and calm. The temperature was slightly lower, but moods were good, and anglers were anxious to get day two under way. As a little bonus for their patience yesterday, Won Bass treated every angler to a HOT breakfast burrito from local Dill's Deli. Thanks to Mike Dill's the owner of "Dill's Deli" for helping out and working late last night to put that together for us and our anglers. Stay tuned for more information soon, or check out our Won Bass Blog at www.wonews.com

Thanks !
There' are a couple photos And short update from this morning up on the http://www.wonews.com blog. More updates will continue to go up throughout the day. It looks a lot nicer today than yesterday, but it's still cold. You have to admire guys who can fish the desert lakes one weekend and on another weekend do well in a mountain lake dressed like a snowboarder.
