Guys, Is there a lake close to Bakersfield that I can test drive a boat I'm looking at? I'm meeting the seller from L.A. in Bakersfield next Saturday, unless I find one before then, need help guys. Also where is the DMV office located and is it open on Saturday? Thanks Bruce

If you are just test driving then buena vista lake is the closest. It's really small but it would probably do the trick. However, I believe that there is a lake fee

Yeah, your best best is Buena Vista lakes recreation area. If the boat has a Kern County sticker, it should only cost $6 to get in. I think it's $13 otherwise. If the seller has AAA, you might be able to do the title transfer that way.

The DMV offices in this area are no longer open on Saturday.

Oh yes, they are right, I forgot about B.V.

My knowledge of Bakersfield is limited really to Tahoe Joes and Smith's Bakery...mmmmmmmmmmm..........
