The Won Bass 2012 Pro/Am season is only 3 weeks away. We hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our Pro/Am program for 2012 is outlined below. I have been on the phone for the last few days calling as many anglers as I can in regards to our first event coming up January 14th and 15th at Lake Shasta. We are very pleased to announce that we have already generated a list of anglers that tops the halfway point to a full field with weeks to go. I want to thank all those anglers who supported Won Bass in 2011, and am very excited to get the new season underway. Our 2012 Western Classic is scheduled for October 27th and 28th at Clear Lake. The time is now.... So get entered to win and join in on the fun.

2012 WON BASS Pro/Am Program
The 2012 Won Bass Pro/Am season will consist of a total of 6 Pro/Am events. Each region to host three (3) tournaments. The 2 regions are North and South. All 6 events will be used to qualify for the end of the year Western Classic qualifications. There are two ways to qualify.
Qualifications for Overall Angler of the Year:
The Pro and AAA angler accumulating the most points in the combined 2012 season to be named Angler-of-The-Year. AOY is based on the best 5 out of 6 events.
Qualifications for Western Classic Championship:
A. The top 5 overall combined North and South point leaders from both the Pro and AAA divisions will earn an automatic invitation to the Western Classic. The Top 5 Overall anglers are based on Best 5 out of 6 events.
B. The Top 20 Pro and AAA anglers from the North and Top 20 Pro and AAA anglers from the South region’s will qualify for the 2012 Western Classic Championship. There are no throw outs for accumulating the separate regional top 20 anglers and co-anglers.
The Western Classic Championship will be limited to only 45 boats. Only those anglers who have qualified based on the above criteria, will be invited. The Top 5 OVERALL Pro and AAA anglers will be omitted from the Top 20 North and South regions, allowing for additional boaters to fill the Top 20 positions in each region based on overall points. Only the qualifying boaters will be invited to the Western Classic. Qualification invitations will be sent out within one week of the completion of the 2012 season. Boaters and AAA’s must confirm within two weeks prior to the Western Classic event. Pairings will be based on those qualifying boaters that have committed to the Western Classic and AAA’s will be paired only based on those Pro’s that have confirmed. The AAA’s will be paired based on highest points within the two regions to pair those with boaters that have confirmed.
Points to be awarded in each event as follows:
(a) Twenty five (25) participation points. Such points awarded for each event fished and accumulated throughout the seven events. A team does NOT have to catch a fish to earn participation points.
(b) Tournament Points. Such points awarded as follows:
First Place Team: One Hundred (100) tournament points plus twenty five (25) participation points.
Second Place Team: Ninety Nine (99) tournament points plus 25 participation points
Third Place Team: Ninety-eight (98) tournament points plus 25 participation points.
…. And so on down the line….
Entries/Deposits:
All anglers must have their entries or deposit in prior to the deadline one week prior to the event date. The deposit for each event is 50% of the total entry. The balance may be paid at registration of the event in cash. All anglers not entering their deposit prior to the deadline are subject to a late sign up fee.
Won Bass continues our 95% payback on the Pro side, with 70% to the AAA's. All options are 100% payback. Options are separated Pro and AAA. The Western Classic will pay back 15% of the Pro entries and 10% of the AAA entries from all 6 events. If all 6 tourneys had 100 boat fields, that would equal to a $45,000 Western Classic Pro reserve purse.
