Top Stick Pyramid 3/17 Postponed

The Top Stick Tour and its staff regret to inform those that planned to fish the tournament tomorrow that it was decided we postpone the event to a later date. Due to the dismal and downright hazardous forcast for wind, rain, low temperatures and the threat of snow, it is in the best interests of the anglers that the event be postponed.

Cancelling events the night before has drawn the ire of anglers in the past, but we felt it better to pull the plug tonight rather than let our teams drive up in the morning only to tell them in the morning what we knew the day before... 20-30 mph winds with gusts to 50mph, 1 inch of rain, and temps in the low 40's is a recipe for disaster.

We will post a make up date as soon as we can find an open date and get something worked out with the DFG and the lake staff of wherever we can squeeze it in.

Once again, we aplogize for the cancellation. But we would rather be chastised for cancelling the event, than being chastised becuase we got someone killed on the water or driving in hazardous road conditions... :(

Thanks for understanding

The Top Stick Tour

DL;

Good call. I am reminded that this circuit is for fun, fishing in the rain and the snow with high winds does not sound like a whole lotta fun to me. Thanks for letting us know.

Later; Big Ed!

Good call and smart. 25mph to 30mph from the south west is a disaster for launch and recovery. I don't mind the rain, but I want to make it down off the mountain too. Snow could start any time and if it happened while we were on the water, the vine could be shut down and we could be waiting for awhile to get home. I back the call.

I think it's great you puT your anglers safety first- I fished up there once in hail, and once in snow- and was lucky to get home the snow day. I did get frostbitten skin on my face, and it was one miserable experience!

I've always said "it's fishing it's supposed to be fun" Not only would it not be fun today it would be dangerous especially for those that have not had that much experience on the water. And just how much fun would it be for the wives or the kids that fish our circuit? We want them to have good memories of fishing not cold wet miserable memories.
