Stolen Plates on Boat Trailer

Someone lifted my plates on my trailer.

Question if you have had the same unfortunate event.

How long does it take to get new plates?

Can I go fishing without the plates as long as the registration is up-to-date? Do they send something until you get the plates?

How much does it cost to get new ones?

Thanks

I feel your pain, I've had mine stolen twice. The last time was 2 years ago and I still havent received the plates from DMV. Registration is paid, I have no worries....
Good luck,

If you are a AAA member, give them a call, they have DMV services.

Not certain about plates, but the fixed my boat reg problem right away.

There was no waiting, and no line.

I had paid, but did not get my stickers, whabam they printed a new reg, and handed me my stickers.

That is the primary reason we have AAA.

:D

I had that happen, too. I took my trailer registration down to the DMV, and they gave me a new plate. At that time, I think it cost $50.

Get security screws and lock nuts. Harder to remove the plate and less likely to vibrate loose and fall off. Call the DMV, make an oppointment to have the plate replaced. AAA is easier if you are a member as stated above. You can get a ticket, depends on who pulls you over, then you need to take care of that with more time and hassle.

Not sure AAA handles plates, but I would call first to check. Before they handle registration and it was part of their services. Now they charge you $4.00. When time for renewal and DMV send you the renewal form, send it in rite away and it'll only cost you $0.47 for the stamp plus a check for amount due. It takes about aweek and 1/2 for them to send you the new registration and sticker.
