Okay, doing more research before purchasing...this time on new graphs. Hope I get some opinions on this one because I really need the advice to make a good purchase.

Do I need GPS on the bow graph?

What are the advantages of having GPS on the bow graph?

The ease that you get with staying on your spot when need in the wind and such... since we put GPS on the front, I'd never got back. I know exactly where I am with it up front.

I have it on the bow unit, but I never use it. My console unit has it on a ram mount,so I just swivel it around when I go up to the bow, and I have it on a bigger screen.

GPS is indispensable on the bow if you like to fish 'off-shore' structure. If you just fish down banks, not near as important.

I'm interested in this too. If you want to have gps on the front would you need another puck? It seems that you would want to have the antenna near the front graph if you want to use gps there.

You will need to mount a puck on the bow of the boat. It will give you a more accurate reading than your gps in the console because the transducer, graph, and puck are all lined up together.

Well all depends. My boat has the GPS Puck at the console and it works perfectly fine. I don't need a new puck. if they are networked together you will be fine.

They now have an Elite 7 HDI model with networking capability for around $800. I'm going to buy one unit first, then if I like it I will put another identical one with GPS on the bow, and network them together. I can't afford to put out so much money for 2 units all at one time! Thank you all for your input!
