Largemouth eating Stripers

If I didn't see it myself I wouldn't have believed it. We were on the Delta yesterday and my buddy's throwing a jerkbait and a small striper hits it, 6" or so. As he gets it to the boat, a 6 pounder grabs the little guy, during the struggle the striper gets away and the bass gets the rear treble on the jerkbait, while I'm on net duty. Beautiful fish and we were able to see it all unfold. Anyone else seen this on the river?

Bass will try to eat anything they can catch, including other bass. I've had bigger bass go after hooked little ones more than once, one reason I am usually in no hurry to reel in a little one I have hooked. Prey in distress is hard for them to resist!
And as far as any tournament I have ever fished, a bass caught that way is a legal catch

I knew they would eat them, and have seen it on tv, just thought it was really cool to get to see it up close!

If it can fit in the mouth they will eat it.
