Fees & Taxes for Used Boat Purchase

I'm in the process of selling my 20 year old Ranger.
Does the selling price I list on the owner release/pink slip affect the buyer? Are there any taxes and fees (other than the typical registration fees) the buyer has to pay based the cost? Is the buyer required to pay sales tax to the state on a used boat purchase?

Interested in this info to as I am boat sopping.
I think it is the same as a car. The buyer pays state sales tax on the purchase price. You could claim a lower selling price to DMV to avoid full tax payment to state as long as a bank isn't involved. The bank would report full price of at least the loan to DMV if they are holding the note.

Just itemize it.
3 separate bills of sale.
1 for the boat
1 for the trailer
1 for motor and accessories.
On the pink slip for the boat you'll write the cost of the boat without motor/ accessories and the buyer will bring that bill of sale and pink slip to DMV.
On the pink slip for the trailer you write the trailer cost.
Just be fair with values.
Think of it this way, you can easily buy a boat with a blown motor or no motor and that cost will be what reflects on the bill of sale.

Thanks for the advice. I'll itemize the sale of the boat, motor and trailer on separate bills of sale as you recommend...
