any idea/ research on attaching braid to flurocarbon line leader with a double uni knot....is there any advanatge/ disadvantage to different line diameters....should the braid be bigger/same/ or smaller than leader?

You can use the uni to uni knot. I would just make sure to use 7-9 wraps on the braided line side and 5-6 on the FC side. Typically you want to stay close in diameters, but a little difference in the line diameter is OK.

I am going to start experimenting with hollow core Power Pro soon. Then I can have a no knot connection like I use in saltwater.

What? how does that work....I've heard of the hollow core line before, but I guess I didn't understand its purpose...no knot. Thats insane......that would mean 100 percent line strength.

*I* have had trouble with the uni2uni connecting braid to mono/flouro, I've gone to the Tony Pena knot and love it. a bit tougher to tie the first few times but it is a much thinner knot that the uni2uni and goes thru the guides very smoothly.

Personally I would not fish structure jigs with a braid flurcarbon leader. The braid is pretty only sensitive when taut and I typically fish the jig on the slack when hoppin it and poppin it. I think the braid to flurocarbon leader for other techniques may have its advantages, however this is not one of those areas.

The Albright Knot is thin, strong, and easy to tie.

That's a good not to tie at the house before you fish, also known as the Bob Sands knot, the Uni to Uni is a quick and easy on the water to retie knot to use, I use it in the saltwater for tying leadeads, 65 power pro to 30pd seaguar, the problems is when you really stick it to the bottom it's impossilbe to break off.

I just checked out the Bob Sands Knot. It's not quite the same as the Albright, which is basically a snell/cinch knot of braid over a fluoro or mono loop.
It is really easy to tie, even on the water.

Bill Siemantel actually recommends the double Albright, where you start your braid wrap as soon as you come up through the fluoro loop, and then wrap back down over the first wraps and pass back through the loop before you cinch it down.
I've found the single Albright is fine for me, but Bill knows way more than I about fishing.

The strongest is the Bimini to Albright. This is what I used to use until I started playing with the hollow core. Its time consuming but I have been using it for years in saltwater so I can tie it pretty quickly.

The Tony Pena knot kinda reminds me of the Slim Beauty knot, except that one starts out with a FC figure eight knot.

I know brambo has been playing with the hollow core super lines and flouro leaders

@acm95301 - what did you end up with? you find something that worked for you?

no disrespect to Bill S, and as others have said he knows more than me as well, but that albright is a tall knot at 3 layers of line tall that is bound to click/stick in the guides. if the knot never sees the guides on a 2-4' leader then that's another story
