Is there any way to change the round grip on the handle to a paddle-type grip, like the Stradic handles? Thanks.

would have to change the entire handle. Fobs will not interchange.

I am pretty sure the knob from the Stradic 2500FI will bolt on.

Thanks, I'll try that option. Are there any tricks to taking the knob off?

Unscrew the cap and you will see the screw holding the knob on the handle shank. Remove this screw and the knob should come right off. I recommend having the schematic there so you can see all the parts. It should be in the box that the reel came in.

Bantam1,
Looking at the schematic of the Stradic 2500 MGFA, I see only the whole handle assembly. It doesn't indicate that you can get the knob as a separate part. Perhaps, I am missing something? Thanks.

Look at the schematic for the FI model.

I hate the feel of the EVA round foam handle too, but luckily my Sustain 3000 (direct-drive) handle screws nicely into my 2500 Ci4. Depending on which reel I'm using I just switch the entire handle. My dealer told me a spare Sustain 3000 handle retails for around $50.00.

You can use the Stradic 2500 or 3000FI handle on the CI4 if you want a lower price handle. The Stradic handle sells for $25.
