Are they the same reel or is there a difference between them? One thing I did notice is that the Aldebaran comes in a 8:1 gear ratio. Is there any chance we will see it in the US?

They are pretty much the same reel. I am not sure if we will see the 8:1 model here. The ultra high gear ratio reels do not have much cranking power. We may have addressed that in Japan with some changes to the gear designs. I just dont know if we will see it here.
