Need help with through the bait swimbaits

What type and pound line do you guys use. I've been using 20lb mono and my line gets frayed. Is there a insert that can put in the sleeve like a tungsten weight.

Coffee stir straw... if the whole isnt big enouch in the weight drill it out.. at least that works for me
