Have a HDS 9 Gen2 touch on the bow connected to spotlight transducer on trolling motor and it works great.
Have a HDS 12 Gen2 touch at dash linked to a brand new through hull transducer and I can't get a depth reading?

I have put the HDS9 head unit at the dash and no depth reading, and then put the HDS12 unit head at the bow and it works completely fine?
So both units work perfect fine at the bow with the spotlight transducer, neither units get a depth reading at the dash. Thus we replaced the through hull transducer, however that did not solve the issue?
Any help would be appreciated?

So is this a 'shoot' thru-hull or a real 'Thru-Hull' transducer?

It is the Shoot thru-hull transducer "PDRT-WBL".

Are both units networked vis Ethernel cable? NMEA2000 cable?
What was the 12 connected to prior to getting the new 'shoot thru' xdcr?
What is the 'shoot thru' transducer connected to?
Did the 12 ever work before on your boat?

Both units are linked via ethernet and NMEA cable.
When I purchased the boat the HDS 9 was at the Dash and the HDS12 was at the bow.
I had the shop remove the HDS 9 from the flush mount at the Dash and moved it to the bow.
The HDS 12 was moved to the drivers side on a Ballzout mount.
The HDS 12 is connected to the shoot thur- transducer.
The HDS 9 is connected to a spotlight transducer on the trolling motor.

Yes both units work fine on the spotlight transducer. When I try either unit on the drivers side mount all the functions seem to work fine but I get no depth reading on either one.
I have talked to a few techs at Lowrance and it has been less effective.

Try switching the console unit's SCOPE from Global to Local then go into setup, installation, and select the shoot-thru as the transducer. If you get sonar now you may have a bad Ethernet cable.

Your unit is broken.send it to me and go buy a new HDS 12
