Quick Tip from Lowrance pro Hunter Shryock: I always put my Lowrance units at my dash in “standby mode” when I get up to fish. It’s a habit I’ve got used to doing just like putting on my life jacket. It helps conserve my cranking battery life throughout the day & I look at them just like a computer - I would never leave my Mac on in the baking sun all day of it’s not in use! Standby mode is a quick and easy habit to get into!

Thanks for the tip. My HDS 12's seem to be pretty hard on my battery when I move very little during the day.
