I use an HDS-5x on my bow and over the weekend it stopped working. When i try to power it up the screen lights up just plain grey. The unit was bought in Oct 09'. It has not been dropped or submerged in water, when the boat goes on the trailer the graphs come off and go in the truck. Has anyone else had this happen? I know there was a problem with water getting in the HDS-7's but mine is fine, really have no explanation other than it just stopped working. feel free to chime in, need to know the best way or who to contact to get it repaired

You will need to send the unit back to Lowrance. This sounds like a software issue that they will need to address. The HDS units have a two year warranty so there won't be a problem.
