how do you hide the bar at the bottom of the screen that shows the position,distance and bearing data. i was able to
do it once before but i cant remember how and i cannot find it in my owners manual.

It's been a long time since I played with one of the 332's and I don't have access to one to play with. Check the menu to see if you have a Navigation active. If so cancel it. This data you are describing sounds like it is related. Or go into the Chart menu and check the settings to see if something is selected that displays this data.
