Lowrance Service Help

I upgraded to HDS units but I have a six year old Lowrance LCX 25C that suddenly stopped working. Showing a black screen with white lines. I called Lowrance customer service and they have a "5year old only" policy. Won't even touch it. I asked where I could get it fixed and the guy said try a TV shop.....really? Can someone help me out here.....is this right? They can't service a six year old unit?

Unfortunately when a new line of electronics comes out the parts and pieces to service the older units run out and Lowrance doesn't produce more parts for those older units. They only invest in parts needed to service the current model unit. So as the parts run out then there is no service available. The 5 year time period mentioned to you is the average time it takes to run out of parts.
