I have used Google earth to place way points on the map then transfer to my HDS buy using GSbable and GPX To USR utility.

And I finally figured how to transfer the name I gave to the way point in goggle earth as well.

However I’m doing something wrong because when I load them to SD card and put on the HDS unit I get double name (isl top,isl top)

Any idea what I’m doing to get the double name?

I personally haven't tried to transfer waypoints from Google Earth to an HDS unit so I'm not sure why the double up on the name you put in. You may just have to go in and edit the Waypoint after it is on the HDS unit to clean it up. If you are like me and end up with alot of Waypoints on your chart, you may want to edit them anyway to allow just the icon to show and not the icon and the name to clean up the screen some.

I have had a similar situation when using Navionics and it was caused by creating duplicate files. It shows as one waypoint icon but lists double numbers. I'm guessing something similar has happen with your Google waypoints.
