I was wondering if I can use the same power cord on lss1 and on the structure scan HD model. They both look the same except for on the HD cable there is a big round plastic piece by the plugin.will this affect the structure scan HD if that plastic piece is not on the old cord?I was hoping to use the old cord instead of the new cord so I won't have to rewire it

The LSS 1 power cord that connects to an HDS Gen 1 key pad unit will connect the same way to an HDS Gen 2 unit. The power cords for the HDS units themselves are the same from Gen 1 to Gen 2. Hope this helps as it is not clear which power cord you are referring to.

The difference in connecting Structure Scan is when you get to an HDS touch unit. The LSS 2 transducer will plug directly into the back of the unit. You don't use the black box module at all, it is only needed to connect Structure Scan to an HDS key pad unit. An LSS 1 transducer will plug directly into the back of the touch unit with an extra adaptor cable you will need to order from a Lowrance dealer.

I was referring to the on the structure scan box and not the head units. Does the actual box of the lss1 and structure scan HD use the same power cord? They look a little different.

They are different and you need to use the power cord that comes with each module.
