I have an HDS 7 with a rattle from something that has come loose inside. Is it possible to undo screws on case and split case to remove item without messing something up.
Thanks SObassman

If the unit is continuing to operate properly, I suppose everything is OK. You should call Lowrance Customer service at 1-800-324-1356 and ask them just in case there is a possibility of the object damaging a component inside at a later date.

Opening the unit yourself will void the warranty.

A friend has an Gen 2 HDS 9 with the same issue. Some small rattle inside. Works great. Interestingly, when powered it has a super high pitch squeel, very soft and you can barely hear it. Odd...

I'm not saying to open any Lowrance unit yourself. Calling Lowrance Customer service to see if they believe this is an issue to send the unit back in for or if there will be no further damage if you continue to use the unit as is.
NEVER OPEN A LOWRANCE UNIT YOURSELF!
