998 SI Transducer Mounting

Hoping someone can help me decide how to mount my transducer for my new 998 SI unit. I have a 2006 ZX 225 with the slidemaster jack plate. I contacted Skeeter direct and talked to their technical support and the gentlemen told me to just use the mount that comes with the unit to mount to the jack plate. The one bolt that would hold the transducer does not seem like it would be very strong. I know that Transducer Shield and Saver makes another bracket that can be used to mount the transducer. I am curious what you guys have done with other skeeters out there. Thanks for the help.

I have used the Transducer Shield to mount and protect the transducer and works great on those Skeeters. Here is a picture and couple video clips on mounting with the SHield on Skeeter Boats. The ZX, iClass and FX all require the same mounting to get below the sponsons.

Thank you for the response. I watched a little earlier one of these videos on your website. Do you have any turbulence interference with the transducer mounted on the jack plate. I heard that some guys were seeing turbulence if they did anything other than put the engine into gear. One last question, sorry, do you have any videos on mounting the gps puck on the boat. Thanks for all of the help.

It depends on water flow off the hull but you can add the spacer and get it lower like I did on the Atlas Plate:

I don't have a Video on mounting GPS Receiver but these pics may help. I try to mount close to the transducer to reduce adding any additional offset to the waypoints.

Thanks again for all of the information. The 2 parts I need I can get from Transducer Shield and Saver correct? Thanks again for the help.
