Unemployment number don't show the real picture

Granted, Dump promised jobs and prosperity for everyone - the last thing mostly for his billionaire friends and donors. But as the unemployment numbers worsen (far fewer job openings.
the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the economy added 911,000 fewer jobs in the 12 months that ended in March 2025 than earlier monthly reports had indicated. The revision means job growth from April 2024 through March 2025 was far weaker than policymakers, businesses, and households had been led to believe in real time.
Slower hiring, fewer openings, a higher jobless rate, and softer wage growth are exactly what you’d expect if the economy had been creating fewer jobs than first reported.
But statistics alone don't follow the many reasons for poor job and wage growth as well a layoffs.
Number one is the combination of businesses failing and mergers. The first one is due to complex problems and negative balance sheets; the second is profit-motivated - the American Dream in motion to succeed and dominate a business, whether retail or wholesale.

My two sons worked for T-Moblle for a collective 50 years. My youngest was laid off once a merger started with Sprint. His whole team of specialists were laid off without notice; he's 51. No buyout, no severance. My older son, 54 years old, will find out next Tues. if he still has a job after 30 yrs. If it wasn't for their 401ks and investments in mutual funds, they'd be f'd! Many worker don't have that safety net and are F'd! They are too old to retrain and start again plus their specialties are becoming less in demand due to A!. (But hey, at least they will have more time to fish with me! ) Good thing my daughter is an RN and very secure jobwise.

Business downsizing and mergers producing massive layoffs isn't new. All of the Blue Chip companies have done it over many decades. In fact, IBM closed plants in NY - one I worked at - laying off thousands and hurting local businesses. But a big part of downsizing and closures are government contracts. The government has carte blanche to award or cancel contracts at will with no explaination given. It's decisions affect the lives of thousands.
Now, with the increasing emergence of AI. many more workers will be on the unemployment lines - many without health insurance. (Dump's stance: sh** happens/ deal with it. Not out problem.)

So, as much as Dump claims poor employment numbers are not his fault, he's partially correct. Moeny talks/jobs walk and jobs around the world are at risk followed by national, state and local economy downturns. Labor unions offer less protection regarding job security than ever before nor financial stability of the newly unemployed.

Sad that the public rarely hears of the affects of unemployment in the media on the thousands of familes left strugling. All we hear and read about are Dump dumping on America every chance he gets based on his 'personal morality'. Kind of reminds me of corporate morality of which this is none.
