Marriage Upheld by California Court of Appeals

SAN FRANCISCO – In a 2-1 decision, the 1st District Court of Appeal in San Francisco reversed a lower court’s ruling on Thursday, October 5, that would have redefined marriage to include same-sex couples. The court upheld Proposition 22, a statewide ballot initiative passed in 2000 that defines marriage as between one man and one woman only.
