My Friends nephew, Scott Gault, is a rower in the olympics. The lake where they are to row is so full of algae its unusable. They are raking and cleaning it as best they can.

They are also shutting down industry before the Olympics to let the air clear. The athletes have been told that if they do anything outside for more than an hour in China they will sustain lung damage.

Good Grief. China has finally appointed an environmental director.

Yes, I saw the news were they showed how bad the air was. Unbelievable how they can let it get that bad, so much for progress.

Sort of on topic (China and olympics). A friend of mine is working at the Olympics and had to sign a form for the Chinese Government that says they can come into her hotel anytime and search her room including her laptop. If they find ANYTHING (even personal correspondance) that talks bad about China she will loose her access!!
