"There is nothing more important to a Member of Congress than his or her re-election.
What are really smart people (like me) are saying these 18 percentage points win in Virginia and the 100,000 votes gap in New Jersey mean? An @ss whipping that predicts that the people hate what President Barack Obama has been doing to the nation and they wanted to voice their displeasure. The results of these elections will, like a gun going off next to your ear will echo long after this day.
Blue Dog Democrats will read these results and begin immediately looking at the independent voters in their Districts and recalibrate their voting records, their statements, and their level of support for the agenda of Obama, Reid and Pelosi.
There will be no health care bill this year.
There will be no cap-and-trade bill this year.
There will be no net neutrality regulations this year.
There will be no card-check legislation this year.
Whatever political capital Obama thought he had in legislative has disappeared as completely as the money out of your weekly paycheck. The Democratic Party is not dead, but it better get a flu shot in a hurry."
