I agree, Nips. It seems to me the only redeeming value of one side of the spectrum is this side of it. The other side is busier trying to get something positive done.

Nipples-how you going to make it when all those nasty republicans that own businesses leave your blue state and take all the jobs with them? Who you going to tax after that happens? Who is going to pay teacher, fire, police and government worker pension plans and salaries. You are obviously in the majority over there and it is working great for Nevada, AZ, TX and just about every other business friendly state around you. Those tools shipped all those jobs overseas and lined their pockets even more!

what % of the taxes do they pay ?
If you get rid of tax breaks will it change anything ?

Nips-I own a business and just had a customer in last week who built a $20 million business and moved it to Washington in 2005 due to the tax and regulation problems in California. I will bet you that 90% of business owners are republican. They are the hardest working people on the planet and are not stupid. Just google the exodus of business from your state and it is mind boggling. My point is that the evil business people you like to hate are paying 90% of your taxes and are producing most of your jobs. If you villify them and punish them they can and will relocate to business friendly states all around you then how are you going to pay the load? Your state is obviously not working with your current and past leadership. You have run out of other people's money and soon you will be cut off from the feds for all the free tax dollars that have kept you from collapsing. Better think about how to help keep those nasty rich people in your state. I doubt that the Hollywood elite will make up the losses but have at it.

Both parties are guilty of over spending and waste. But, when you look at states with the highest deficits or serious shortfalls from overspending, almost all of them are democrat controlled. CA is a glaring example. States which are doing well even through these bad economic conditions are Republican controlled.

You can continue to ignore, spin, or disagree with the facts but its not gonna change the truth.

Clinton lowered the top capital gains tax rate from 28 percent to 20 percent.
