Way point transfer question

question: Hello, I'm trying to transfer waypoints from my dads HDS gen 2 touch 9 to my HDS 10" gen 1. I keep getting a message which reads something similar to file version 5.0 not supported. His waypoints are on a SD card. Are waypoints from gen 2 compatible with gen 1? If so how do I fix this. Thank you for your time!

My son is asking this.

The waypoints are compatible but when they are saved on the Gen 2 to the SD card, they need to be saved in Version 4 or even Version 3. Then use the Import command in the Files menu and you should be good. Also make sure the waypoints are in the same format. This might be in one of the Settings menus. You can display waypoints as Degrees, Decimal Minutes or Degrees, Minutes, Seconds. Each unit needs to be set to display the same format.
