    Water Temp: 58-61

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Lake was FULL and very MUDDY today (Thurs). Fishing was tough as I took my first skunk at Anderson this year. Tried everything, believe me. One little hit on a dropshot is the only action I had all day. Looked for crappie, also to no avail. A few other boaters indicated they'd caught a few small LM's (obviously better anglers than yours truly). They all reported using plastics. As an aside, just because there are only a few Anderson reports posted here recently, don't get the impression that folks aren't fishing there. There were approximately ten trailers in the parking lot today when I arrived at 10 a.m. A few skiers but most boats were seeking bites. Today's bonus: I saw a bald eagle winging its way east at very north end of the lake. Just plain majestic!
    City: Santa Clara

Tips: Maybe wait until the water clears up a bit. But then you might miss out. Good luck to all!

    Water Temp: 54-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I fished from 2-5pm. I fished flats close to the creek channel and found staging fish. I caught 23 bass up to four pounds. Mostly throwing crankbaits, a few on the blade. The lake is almost full and not too muddy.
    City: san jose

Tips: The bite on the crankbait was consistant but the fish didn't exactly rip the rod out of my hand. Use a soft tipped crankbait rod with some back bone and set the hook if you don't feel the crankbait wiggling at the end of your line. The fish just pick it up and swim with it.

    Water Temp: 51-53 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got the first 20+ fish day of the year splitshot and dropshot plastics. They were pretty small as usual for me here. One buddy did manage a 2.5 and a 4.5, both full of eggs.
A side note is I did find a school of small crappie 30 feet over structure in 50 feet of water, then my friend got a 3/4 pound crappie on a plastic worm as we were pulling out, in 3 feet of water. Go figure! They want to be moving up but the water is still too cold.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Plastics worked real slow in 12 to 35 feet, on rocks. Fish are starting to move around.

    Water Temp: 54-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Looking at recent Anderson reports you'd think I'm the only one fishing there. Not the case, as there were at least 20 boat trailers in the parking lot today when I arrived at about 10:30. Fellow anglers were taking advantage of Presidents Day for sure. Tough bite for me today although I did manage a less-than-thrilling limit of keepers, here and there...nothing larger than two pounds. Three on a hula grub, one with a western rigged robo worm (read drop shot) and one with a crawdad colored crankbait. Off the water at 5:30. All fish released today. Off topic for a moment please: A recent newspaper says the crappie bite is hot at Anderson so I tried to find them for about an hour without as much as a tap. I wonder about the credibility of that particular newspaper report because I've fished Anderson four times in the last two weeks and I've not seen anyone fishing for crappie, let alone catching them. Someone please set me straight if I'm missing something here because I'd sure like to get into some of those "red hot" crappie. Thanks.
    City: Santa Clara

Tips: Hula grub with 1-ounce football head jig. My best success has come while boat-drifting, just letting the wind and the current do the work while dragging the hula grub in 10-20 feet of water. Hits have been pretty easy to detect, very distinct from the normal bouncing motion of the jig head. Good luck!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: We float-tubed the south end for a dozen typical 13-16inchers in the cold and hail. It was a better bite than I expected with most coming in at 5 to 17 feet. They seem to be moving to rocks near the flats they will be nesting on. Absolutly no joy for crappie and I did try! Crappie are still schooled up deep is my best guess.
Splitshot plastics worked real slow did it for us.

Tips: Rocks and sticks near the shallower flats and work it SLOW.

    Water Temp: 55-56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished from noon till 5 p.m. and landed 8 LM's...6 yearling keepers and two dinks. Caught half of them on a dropshot w/aaron's magic 4 inch robo worm and the other half boat-dragging a 5-inch hula grub w/one ounce football jighead. Kept two for breakfast, released the others. Approx 10 other boats on the water when I arrived. Feedback from one of them revealed they had a day similar to mine...nothing over two pounds.
    City: Santa Clara

    Tips: Plastics, plastics, plastics. Sloooooooooow.

Report: Went out on the lake between 12-3 with my brother and his son. Threw cranks, senkos, blades, hula grubs, and 4" darterhead worms with no hits. Finally started catching bass on a 1/8 oz beetle spin (yellow and white) and a 5" jig head worms (shad colored). We ended up with 5 bass from 10"-13" on rocky points. All fish were fat and healthy with a nice green color, not the winter pale look. Tough day on the lake. There was lots of fisherman out yesterday but saw very few hookups. Prespawn is not here just yet.

Tips: Fish deep, downsize lures and line weight, fish slow.

    Water Temp: 55-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: On water from 10:30 am til 4:30 pm. Landed a four, a three and two ones. Largest fish taken with a one ounce jighead hula grub while boat-drifting in 20ft water. All others on a dropshot...Aaron's Magic Robo worm. Fish released. Beautiful day to be on the water.
    City: Santa Clara

Tips: Slow plastics around rocky points.

    Water Temp: 55-56 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Hit the lake at 1 p.m., off the water at 5 p.m. Typical day at "Smallville"...landed a couple of one-pounders and a dink on cinnamon/black flake hula grub, 1 ounce football jighead...approx 15 feet deep. Used technique that Gary Dobyns shared during his seminar at this year's Cow Palace Fred Hall show. Still a tough bite today, though.

Only two other boats on the water when I arrived. Spoke to one guy who said the going had been tough for him and his partner...only three small fish between them, all on a dropshot. They left the lake as I was arriving.
    City: Santa Clara

Tips: Can't really say I found a good pattern today. But you might try using just the current/wind to boat drift hula grub on bottom across rocky points. When conditions don't permit this technique, drag the hula grub on the bottom using a slow, steady retrieve. I also ripped a Stacee for about 15 minutes and tossed a T-rigged baby brush hog for 30 minutes without a hit or a tap.

Report: Another Great Report from Zack. For as many times you post, you havent fished all year? You are hardcore. Awesome tip about the jetskiers, that really helps out. My favorite is the fast always doesn't work... I am afraid to ask what you meant with that.
    City: Morgan Hill

    Tips: Skip over Zack's reports

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Same thing as friday for me. Not much on reaction, 1 on a blade and it was the smallest fish of the day. Caught 10 others on dartheads with shad pattern worms. These worm fish were all in 5-15 feet and hitting pretty aggresively. I fished the north end on flatter banks with little or no rocks. The bites were all spread out pretty evenly throughout the day, so just keep shakin'.

Tips: I was throwing a curly tailed worm in a shad color, but i dipped the tip orange. Who knows if it heiped, but it certainly didn't hurt anything.

    Tips: dart head curly tails

    Water Temp: na

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Started around 8:30 and started with jigs. Just love taps. Switched to spinner-bait and caught a nice 2 pounder in about 8 feet of water. Switched to drop-shot and caught 1 dink and missed the love taps. Tough day. Windy and cold.
    City: san jose

Tips: drop-shot got the most hits. anywhere from 12 to 26 feet of water.
