Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished both Saturday and Sunday here. Got 2 bass 3+ pounds on a slow rolled plastic worm. Sunday targeted crappie for a few hours and caught and released 50 of them little buggers. GOt one slabber almost two pounds. Seeing alot of folks taking fish out of this reservior, even though there are signs everywhere about the mercury content. Don't mind them removing some of the panfish, but keeping a post spawned bass sure chaps my hide

Report: My buddy DT and I went out at about 5pm. We had to be off the water by 7:30. We fished the rock bank directly accross the dock. I caught 3 small one. And this fool caught 7 good size bass, largest being 4.5lbs. We threw spinnerbaits (char.), Rat-L-Traps (silver), and he caught a couple on a Texas Rigged Worm. The temperature is perfect for fishing mudlines. Great day of fishing, even though I got shown up.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Arrived at the south end at 7.30am and fished until 1.00pm. LOTS of shad boiling in the morning but didn't know what to use, they were in thick weeds also so I couldn't toss my spinnerbait. I pretty much fished the whole south end in my float tube and caught 4 on my charteuse spinnerbait,(largest was 3.3, two 2 pounders, and one little guy) 1 on a wiggle wart which was a nice fat 2.5 pounder, and a little guy on a senko. Although I did miss two on a texas rigged red senko when the wind picked up. Probably try the same tomorrow.
    City: San Jose

Tips: If you know what to use when those shad are boiling, get there in the morning and try it out. Spinnerbait action was doin' it for me lately, but my arm gets freakin' tired with all those casts in a tube.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got 3 yesterday but two unbuttoned on a charteuse spinnerbait from 5.00pm till 8.00pm. largest one was 2 pounds. I was fishing left of the launch ramp in my float tube. Same thing today. 3 bass, one unbuttoned, largest was 2.5 pounds. Using Charteuse spinnerbait again. ANd left of the launch ramp, again. But tomorrow. I'm hittn' the south end in the morning. Let you know how I do. I want to go further down the lake but I always get there too late and it's a b#$@h with the wind blowin' like crazy.
    City: San Jose

Tips: weeds are growning fast, so whatever works in the weeds. Hell if I know where the bass are. I'm workin' on it though.

Report: Caught a nice spawned out 4lber and another small bass. Fished for about 4 hours and ran into my 3rd rattlesnake this year. It was drinking right near the old ranger's launchpad just north of the small dam. That was the second one i have seen in that same spot, coiled right next to the ramp. Be careful where you step :)
    City: San Jose

Tips: wear costa del mar sunglasses, so you can weed out those snakes!

Report: Way to go tooth! That is awesome that you would
spend some time cleaning up. I wish there were
more like you out there. I try to do it once or
twice a year myself. As for the rangers at Calero
most are really cool and nice. I have been hassled
too but to be honest I guess I deserved it. I was
late to the ramp at closing and after a good
tongue lashing he let me go without a ticket. I
was in the wrong and claim ignorance. Again
thanks for taking the time to keep the lake
    clean.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Shore fished Southern end with Senko and a pig and jig. Only two small ones, pretty much the same for the other guys out there, one guy did report a 2 pounder though. Got tired of seeing all the trash from the baitfisherman laying around, found and empty bag, filled it with trash. Back in the parking lot, Ranger comes flying up in his truck to me, says dog must be on leash, and cannot be in the Southern end. I told him I would have had him on leash, but my hands were full of trash. I think thats the only thing that saved my from a ticket. He called for backup, after running my license for warrents! For a dog being off leash? Jeez, I guess the reputation of Calero Rangers being very unfriendly is true. I'll still do their job and pick up trash, but this time I think I'll leave it in a big pile at the ranger kiosk.
    City: SJ

Tips: Bait fisherman, please stop leaving the bass corpses on shore. I don't know if you're cleaning the fish right there or what, but it's depressing. You should be C&R anyway, too much mercury in them. And pick up your goddamn worm cups!

Report: The catchin' has been off and on for me. One day they are slammin' my bait and the next day they are not. Biggest fish of the year was seven or eight pounds. Most were 1 or 2 pounds.
    City: san jose

Tips: 10 or less feet of water with slow moving baits seem to work pretty well for me right now. Good luck and practice catch and release.

Report: Well went out today and yesterday on my flaot tube. Yesterday, I caught a little one(1.5lbr) as soon as I got there(9.30) left of the launch ramp. Didn't get another one until about 12.30 and that was little too. But my buddy who got the 7.2 lbr the day before hooked into a 3.7lbr. We were both using senkos and casting to shore and bringing them out. The first bass I caught had 2 dead shad fly out of it's mouth when I was reeling it in. Today, well, it sucked. I caught a little baby one again(not even a pound) but missed a big hit just left of the launch ramp. I guess I need to try another spot.
    City: San Jose

Tips: I need tips. But lots of shad boiling but can't get them to hit.

Report: Went out on my big bayliner and just drifted left of launch ramp. Got there at about 9:00am. Used senkos(pumpkin) and carolina rigged power worms. My buddy hooked a 7.2lbs bass on the drop with a senko. He said it was a very light hit. I caught a little baby on the carolina rig. Seen lots of readings at the points at about 12ft of water. Those weren't hitting though.
    City: San Jose

Tips: I'm not one to give tips but everybody says platic worms are the ticket for this lake. I need tips though so help me out.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Spent Good Friday on the waters of Calero in my float tube. Fished the flats left of the lanch ramp and caught a 5 fish limit. No takers on blades all Senko (rootbeer color) fishes in about 10 ft of water no shallower or deeper. Largest fish went on my Berkeley digital scale at a hefty 4.6lbs all the rest were Calero sized bass at 2lbs and less. Total weighed for 5 fish was 10lbs 11oz. Lots of guys on bass boats that morning. Didn't get a report from anyone. Left at noon, bite was picking up.
    City: Mountain View

Tips: Fished rootbeer Senko in 10' of water. Lift and drop and work back to boat. All bites were very suttle, and on the drop. Watch for line movement.

Report: A little slow, one boater reported 10 fish on plastics, but biggest 2.5. I managed five fish, biggest was also about 2.5, most on plastics. There was a hot bite about 4pm for about an hour, they were hitting everything, and lot's of top water activity.
    City: SJ

Tips: slow on the bottom with plastics, South end still seems good.

    Water Temp: 62.0-65.0

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fishing is solid with numbers of fish shallow both post spawn and new fish moving in. No big fish on this day but many in the 2-3lb range. Some fish on beds but sight fishing is tough with the water clarity and recent wind this week but I did see some.
    City: San Jose

Tips: stay shallow.. look for fat new fish moving up on secondary points and breaks. All our fish were cought 2-12ft on jigs and also the Senko when the wind would permit.

    Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished along the dam from 11:30am - 4pm and eventually started catching some on a Texas-rigged brown pumpkin lizard. The largest was 2.5 lbs and I ended up with 3. I also found a rattlesnake along the shoreline, so be very careful, if you're out there. Luckily, I heard the rattle. It was only 1.5 ft from where I was standing.
    City: Saratoga

Tips: Didn't have any luck with the green or red colored plastics. Brown worked for me.
