Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got to the lake about 9:30 and fished until 2:30. Caught 8 Bass total. Best five fish weighed just over 20 lbs. Caught all the fish from the bank to about 5 ft. One fish was 8.6lb. on the scale. That fish was in about one foot of water. All the fish were caught on 1/4 ounce black and purple jigs with a purple pork trailer. Bang crawdad scent was used on the baits. The fish would hit the bait as soon as it landed in the water.
City: GilroyTips: Fish dark colors until the water clears. Black and purple are a killer combination at Calero in the winter months. For as many years back as I can remember fishing there it's been the same every winter. Especially right before spring hits. Use a dark colored jig and put alot of crawdad scent on it. Fish the bait shallow even in the coldest part of winter. Throw the bait right on the bank and drag it into the water. Pop it up one time hard and then let it sit for a few seconds. The fish will usually hit right then.

Water Temp: n/a, but COLD!!
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: The lake has come up and gotten a bit more stained from last week's storm. Pretty fishing today w/ snowcovered hills around the area. I fished from 8-3:30 today in breezy conditions. I landed 3 really nice fish....4lbs, 4lbs, and 3lbs. I also missed/lost 6 other fish...3 of them felt like 3+lbers. They were short striking the bait or something....couldn't quite figure out what was going on. Anyhow, I did the best I could considering all the wind. The fish were all in a 100 yard stretch....just kept going back and forth. Couldn't get bit anyplace else. All fish were caught on zipper grubs w/ kickn' bass scent.
City: San MateoTips: Fish real shallow in the morning, move out to 10'-15' in the afternoon. Don't fish the deep water like I saw some guys doing today. Use very SLOW retrieves.

Water Temp: 47
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Finally, a break in the bad weather!!! The lake is a little stained and the water temp is down a little. The fish appear to be a bit deeper thanks to this latest cold front. We fished near the dam from 10-2. We caught just 2 small bass. There were plenty on the depth finder in about 25 feet of water, but not very active. Nice day though.
City: San JoseTips: Fish Slowwwwwwwwww....

Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Two of us fished from 11-5. Nice, warm day with water temp up about 2 degrees from the previous week. Landed 7 bass from 1-3 lbs. We fished the shoreline on the far side of the dam. The bass are schooled up and as soon as we started seeing them on the depth finder we got bites. We used small worms in dark colors and small jigs in about 20 feet of water.
City: San JoseTips: Locate the schools and use small dark colored baits that you can fish slow to get them in the boat!

Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Three of us fished from 10am until 3pm. Marked a lot of fish on the electronics in 25-30 feet of water. We fished the main lake points and rocky areas. Had only 1 bite all day! Used small plastic worms, plastic lizards and jig and pig combos. Weather was sunny and breezy. Only 1 other boat on the water.
City: San JoseTips: Use small dark colored plastics or jigs off points in the main lake. Early or late in the day seems to be the best bet.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out to see if the fish would go by the ramp. Only had an hour and a half so I only brought jigs. It was raining and breezy. Slow dragging the jig had three bites and two hookups. Lost the first fish which bit at the end of my cast. Didn't hit him hard enough. Destinctive bites when I got them. Talked to the other two guys fishing, one guy in a tube said he got two on rip baits fishing the island near the ramp and one on a point on the west side of the lake. The other guy was fishing from a boat and I watched him fish some good water and not get bit. He said he didn't get a bite all day (he needed to put the fly rod down and pick up a jig). If I can get three bite by the ramp on a day like this then the rest of the lake should be great!
City: Mountain ViewTips: I threw a green and brown jig 3/4 oz. with brown pork in four to five feet. A mix of dead sticking and short quick pops is what it took to get bit.
