Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: It worked for me. For those who want tips, try jigs, rip baits or senkos for success. The big fish are shallow but in thick cover, more numbers but smaller fish are on shallow flats attainable by rip baits. Good luck guys. If you want pics of, proof then give me your email.

Report: The bite is back on! I've gone out a few times this last week to the arroyo pond and caught a few nice fish in the afternoon/evening. I lost a 10+ off a brown jig the other night and it made me sick! I went home and put on 50lb power pro braid and answered back with a nice #6.4 the next day. These fish are holding close to the shore and hitting on the drop. I'm heading out tomorrow afternoon to try the island pond. It would be nice to see some more activity on this forum like there was in the past. Good luck to all

Tips: Use braided line and cast way back in the trees and bushes.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out again because the weather was so nice. Tried flipping the Garry Yamamoto Hula Grub on a brown football head jig. Flipped real close to the shore near bamboo. Had a few decent fish all taking the bait on the drop. At last light I hooked a nice 5 to 6 pounder that jumped right in front of me but threw the hook. We all know that feling when we see the fish that we lose. Perfect evening to get out though.

Tips: Flip as close to shore in the most impossible openings. Only fish I've caught have been hugging the shore in deep cover.

Report: SHADOW CLIFFS BACK LAKES RE-OPENED!!!!
I was walking my dog yesterday at the back lakes and saw signs with fishing the regulations! They took out the old signs that said no fishing. Saw a few bank fisherman so I figured I'd run home and grab my tube. Weather was around 80 degrees and water was warm. Flipped a senko around for 6 fish. Biggest was close to 3 pounds. Made my day to see that place re-opened.

    Water Temp: getting warm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

    Report: Hey Folks

    ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!

Just want to let yall know that I have seen some Chinese fishermen out fishing illegal and harvesting their catch. Doesnt take much to hurt small fisheries. And a few focused chinese people can do just that.

most of the people that utilise this fisherie are sport fisherman and its upto us to look out for it!! Most of the non sport fisherman are ingnorant on many subjects including fishing. Im not suggesting that we try to enlighten or make better of these people but rather let them know of the regulations and types of fines they could see if they get popped. Let them know your lookin out for their best interest and just giving a heads up.

This can be a fun place to fish and if we take care of it it will remain that way.

Aside from that fishng has been fair. have to work for them but with a little bit of luck who know what you may see. Get out and fish!!!

    Water Temp: warm enough

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I love this warm weather and how the bite is probably on fire back there in the back lakes... but we're not allowed to go fishing back there... thanks a lot you enviro-commi's, I hope you're happy scrambling to find a steelhead in the arroyo all while the public parks and state are losing revenue from a lack of fisherman. Once I see evidence of a reasonable closure I'll shut up, but until now this is bull...

Tips: I'm guessing the males are coming up on the beds while the big mama's are hanging back... can't do anything about it.

Report: I'm fed up! A few days after the first trout plant started going, went about 6 times since. been fishing for them all month long it seems. Powerbait, nightcrawlers, marshmallows, u name it. No bites, no nothing, just very long dissapointing days and nights. Fished for catfish a little as well (during evening) and still nothing..Maybe the water is still too warm, I dont know what that guy below me was talking about. His friend caught a single trout one evening? Bullcrap. All the times ive been out there for at least 11 to 12 hours without a single bite as of yet. Hopefully it picks up.

Report: Fished in the panhandle for trout since they had their first plant about 5 days ago. Friend ended up catching a 15'' trout towards sunset and a small panfish mixed in with some little bass on a nightcrawler. Good sign for future plants if trout are already biting.

Report: Haven't been to Shadow Cliffs for a year. Took my float tube to the lake, pay to get into the lake, then they happen to tell me that the back ponds are closed for... STEELHEAD??!! WTF??? There's no frickin way a steelhead would show up in Shadow Cliffs!!

So I ended up fishing the main lake for a few hours with no luck. I hate fishing the main lake for bass though.

With the back ponds closed for an imaginary fish, that ends fishing at Shadow Cliffs for me...

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Thanks dfg for closing the back lakes. Fishing for bass back there WAS one of my favorite summer activities. Its the closest and best lake around. It being closed does more harm then good to the many fishermen who rely on spending time back there, because many just stopped fishing in general, like me and my buddies.

Tips: If you ever have seen a steelhead in the back lakes please report on this page. Anyways how could catch and release BASS fishing affect the supposed steelhead fishery??
