      Water Temp: 77-85

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We started 8:30 this morning over by the dam. Its been a ew weeks or me out here, and its a trip to see all o the islands and rock piles that pop up out o nowhere.Anyway, no luck over at the damn, so we cruised over to the North side o the lake. The wind picked up a little bit around 11:00 and so did the ishing. We ran into an area with rock piles and cut banks, and caught ish let and right. We bagged 18 or so, 10 o them good ish the others were nothing to get excited about. The ish chilled out around 1:00, and the heat and smoke was doing us in so we called quits. That ire in Georgetown is out o control. Thank God or the wind, although it probably didn't help cd. Dylan we gotta go ishing soon. Just in case your wondering this is Rich rom your avorite grocery store. P.S. the story the two big ones is true.
      City: Eldorado Hills

Tips: A couple o weeks ago I was on a good jig bite, but I blew my lower unit out. The ish aren't on that now. All the ish were caught on shad pattern worms. The ish inhaled everything today. No sot bites and good ights too. Good Luck.

Report: Fished Franks tract From 1:00 t0 5:00. Caught 15 ish. All were keepers with 5 to 3lbs, 2 to 5lbs and one that weighed 7.5 on the scale. All ish caught on senkos, right up against tules with weeds around them and there had to be current. Couldn't get a reaction bite. Did have 3 blow ups on rogs but no hook ups. With the rog, it seemed the ones that did blow up on them, the rog had to sit a while and then just barely move.

      Water Temp: Upper 70's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Change is good in my book. I preer to go Black Bass ishing, but when it's Striper time I like to change over until Jan. 1rst o each year. Sunday, my 8 year old son and I headed or downtown stockton all the way up to the waterront. Located schools o 12 - 18" stripers and a had blast. This time o year I really like to watch my son ish, because he really learns alot. We threw storm chug bugs and 1/4 oz. rat-l-traps and busted/released 20 stripers in an hour as the sun was going down. The algie plooms were thick today, but the ish were still inding the lures. Then we got out o the water beore it got to dark.
      City: Stockton

Tips: When the algie plooms are thick it is hard to get good bites. Use a noisy topwater lure, preerably with rattles. When thowing traps I don't cast to the deeper water because the algie is to cloudy. I preer to cast within 2 eet rom the vertical cement walls. The wall creates a good contrast or the lure and is easier or the stripers to ind it. Also, i you are willing to except the situation you're ishing in. When you get home take the to clean the green algie scum o the reels and guides. Also, when you reach clearer water troll your lures behind the boat and that will also help clean o the algie. Pre-season striper ishing is worth it. The action is ast and un. In the past I've had the bite last up to six hours a day. Use a topwater,rat-l-trap,and a shad type jig to adjust to the mood o the stripers. p.s. I anybodies interested, my custom made shadding dip net is still up or sale. Asking $200.

Report: Fished Lucerne area today. Threw the rog rom noon til about 3:30. Had a @#%$^^load o blowups, but no takers. It was like they were playing with a beach ball out there. Just blasting the rog around. Got action on white and black. Threw a buzzbait and hooked a nice ish around 4or5lbs. Hammered it on the edge o the mat. Other than that I don't know what else to tell ya. Is it me or can somebody tell me they had the same problem. The ish are there and there is some monsters under those mats. All ish were on the deeeper side o the mats or the weedline. Something tells me that I wasn't making the right presentaion in regards to which way the sun was and how they were acing under the mat. It seemed like they knew something was above them, but they couldn't see very well. I don't know much about rogging, but maybe another color would have been good. I don't know. Chartreuse might have been good with the stain o the water. I'm open to suggestions. I ound the ish, I just did a lousy job o not putting any in the boat. Maybe not enough deadsticking? Come on somebody, speak up. Or were they simply not taking. Thank you.
      City: Petaluma

Tips: Don't look here or any. Don't know what to tell ya. Drink lots o water and get the suncreen and hat on. Extremely hot out. You really need to be in good shape to do this and load up on the water. These ish will kick your ass out there and humble you very ast.

Report: Started the day by railing o the stern!!! Slipped down to the south end and threw rogs, no luck. My Bud got slapped on his spook, but no ish. Started ishing the rocks & weeds on east side with a crank bait and brought our on board! The CL helped. Watched some guy pull a hog out o the weeds! NICE!! Water lice got thick so we moved by the damn. Cranked up another ive, and missed several, (2-3's and 6-2's). Had a great day on the lake. Please pack your trash.
      City: Watsonville

Tips: Find large schools o rocky bottems and match lure to depth. Fat Free Tennessee Shad worked well at around 4'-6',(ish seemed to be 7'-10').

Report: On a whim, the girlriend and I went camping at Coyote Sat aternoon with the intent o ishing Sunday morning. Tried ishing the south o the lake near the camp ground late a night but ound that the weeds were a bit o a problem with little/no light (lots o top water activity but not sure i they were bass). Tried throwing a Hula Grub but gave up ater 30 min to go back to camp with no luck rom the shore. Sun morning didn't get out till around 9:00am to the same spot. Lot's o top water activity but no luck on the south end o the lake. Decided to head to the damn and check the rest o the lake out (got there at 11:00am). 3rd cast rom the dam pulled in a 4.5lb bass on a jig (only ish or the day). Also bought a minnow/bait net but couldn't igure the darn thing out so no minnows. Let by noon satisied with the ish I caught. Spoke with some guys in tubes in the south end and several guys near the damn, but nobody was catching ish. Nice lake, I'll deinately come back again. Oh yeah, tried using a buzz bait in the south part but no luck (tip rom www.ichthy.com) I guess Nicolo is the only one catching ish on the lake.
      City: Sunnyvale

Tips: When in doubt, look or the type o ood that the bass has locally and try to mimic it (color, size, etc). Saw plenty o crawdad's but no bait ish near shores so the jig caught one today.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Sorry, this is late hectic week with work travel!Fished a club T on Sunday and the weights and overall bite was about where I expected it too be, except I thought I could get 7-9lbs NOT to be on this day. Let the lake alone or a week and lost a good 2 1/2 to 3 eet o water, man they are dropping that sucker. The good crankbite bite I had ound was gone and so were the ish, luckily my partner or the day wormed one keeper up so we didn't blank, well as a team anyway. This was without a doubt my roughest day on the water this 2001 year. Seemed olks ound some early reaction, a decent jig Bite, and a good dropshot bite.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Rockpile ish it like December, I cannot get the topwater going but there seems to be a rip/crank and a good jig bite i ya ind the ish. Still tons o little guys and I mean little guys bite'n worms

Report: Launched out o the Spillway at 4:00 pm and went over to the dam. Picked up a slot ish on a 1/8 oz darthead with a watermellon Yamamoto split tail grub in about 15 eet o water. Moved to the main body and picked up a couple more slot ish with the same bait working around points. Moved out to about 30 eet and nailed a 17" spot beore braking o my 1/8 oz darthead. Retied with a 1/4 oz dart head and never got bit. Didn't get bit on a dropshot or splitshot either, so I went back to the 1/8 oz and yeppie, got some more. :)All in all, I was on the lake or 4 hours and had 6 bass brought to the boat. {5 slots and 1 over} Missed a couple others. It was my irst time on Oroville in about two years and I wanna go back soon. However, I sure am looking oreward to not having to share the ramps with the summertime loonies. once the cooler wether sets in. :)
      City: Granite Bay

Tips: I used a very slow presentation allowing the bait to crawl over rocks and stop oten.

Report: Got skunked! Massive hogs along shore. Got there @ 6am. Mainly used plastic worm every style. Tried everything I had overall! Stuck to the main lake towards the pan handle. Wanted to hit the back lakes but had to leave due to plans...Couldn't even get the small ones to hook on a kastmaster!! Beore I let, a guy in a boat hit a 13" 'on a worm' right in ront o me! (By the carp patties!) (Angle o presentation was/is the key!) You may want to rent a boat next time you go. There are huge ish at SC that need to be caught! It is a morale imperitive!! Go early but remember, boat rentals don't start till 8 so B.O.B.!Boo hoo or me!Wind was very mild at 7am. Hot overall... Maybe ish the back lakes in AM. next time...Cheers,KeithMilpitas, CA.

Report: My wie and I took the boat out or the irst trip and spent the night on it. Spent more time learning about the boat than ishing that evening. Wind blew all night and was pretty cold. Up at 0500 and pulled anchors and ound a likely place by 0530. Water pretty muddied up rom all the boat traic rom the day beore. Threw a jitterbug I'd had on rom the night beore and stuck 3 with the biggest about 2.5#. Had several blowups that the ished missed the bait and had one come un-buttoned. That bite died about 0730 and I drop shotted 2 more getting one at a solid 2#. The other 3 ish were typical 14" Shasta clones. 5 bass or about 8.5# beore 8 am.
      City: Redding

Tips: Sleeping on the ront deck is like sleeping on the sidewalk! Bring a good oam pad and remember, even i it's a 100 degrees at 4 pm, it's gonna be cold at 5 am.

Report: In the water at Packers at 540 am, air temp 63, lake muddy, ran up the Mccloud near the birdhouse point or a couple o dinks as the wind came up to approx 15 mph which using top water a bit tough, ran up urther to Shallow point to get out o the wind and no top water bite to be had or me, started thowing jigs and getting hit short or a bit then put 6 more in the boat with two at 1.8 and 2.4, moved over to a little lat point that is very shallow and got bit big time in 15 t on a MGM #109 twin tail grub, the ish ripped o some line towards the rear o a houseboat and I got him in at a solid 4.5lbs, nice at spot. Moved upstream again about a 1/2 mile and poked around in the back o some coves, nothing happening, wind picked up a bit and tried some more main lake points until the jet skis started up at 745 am. All my ish this am came between 705 and 725 am. Traic got heavy in a hurry so I ran back to packers bay, out at 830 am, air temp up to 76 and climbing ast, temp will hit 105 today and maybe thru tuesday.

      Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: My buddy and I launched out o Paradise at 6am. We headed up in the Fourteen Mile area and saw there was good water movement so we started throwing reaction baits. Ater about 15 minutes o nothing on a blade, crank or topwater, we started pitching plastics. On my irst cast I elt a solid thump and set the hook on a 7+. We then continued up the bank and caught another 15 ish over the next 1 1/2 hoours. Almost all o the ish were a solid 2 to 3 pounds. About 8am we decided to run up in the Whites area and experienced pretty slow action or an hour or so until I hit a beautiul 4 pounder on a plastic. We managed to catch another 10 or so and were o the water by 1:30. About 20 o the 25 ish caught were keepers.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Don't know where the reaction bite went. Over the years, a reaction bite has pretty much been a given in the summer i there is water movement, but this year is dierent. It's usually either a blade, speed or rattle trap bait this time o year, but the plastic bite seems to be the ticket or us. No speciic depth, as ish were caught in 2 to 8 eet o water.
