Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Exactly a week rom my last report and it was dierent. I stayed in the south ork or more action and the ish seem to have moved back due to the cooling weather and water temp but was able to maintain a airly good blade bite ishing it slower and deeper than last week with plenty o at slot ish and about 3 over the slot. Wind picked up pretty good and in the aternoon I looked or calm and deeper water and got the Senkos ready or action and boy did I ind it. Those Senkos are truly amazing, sometimes you see and eel something but most o the time it's a pure deadstick or 2 minutes, pick it up and there's a nice ish on your line. Got many slot ish, one smally and about 6 spots over the slot........what a blast! Batteries and my body took a beating today but was worth it.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Using a 3/8 chartruese, tandem willow lea spinner with a grub trailer to get it a little deeper and worked it slow. Fish came o rocks and points. Using Senkos in watermellon throwing it about 10 t rom the bank into 12-15 t o water and doing nothing or 1-2 minutes and there were plenty o ish.

Report: Sorry or the late report. Fished mouth o Squaw and Pit on 4-2,3,4. Found better ish on inside main points early, moving to shade and outside willows midday on keeper oxblood and Berkley 4" iness in motor oil. Once 3:00 came change over to the brightest chartreuse worm you can ind and splitshot red clay/sotball rock bank as slowly as you can and the action is hot.It seems like the quality is better this year as we boated around 20 ish 1.5 to 3lbs each day. The aternoon being much more productive or us. The days were 80 degrees and a little breezy but it will get back ther soon I hope. It always takes me a while to recall how slow the Shasta crawl really is.

Report: went out with the olks rom Reno again, Steve and Carol. In the water at Bailey Cove at 0630 at 43 degrees, lake at 20 t and rising slowly, water ast the ramp was 52 degrees, ran over with them to the Squaw and went uupstream near Museum Gulch where Carol and I worked on her casting while Steve promptly caught a 1.6 spot on an MGM #109 at weenie, Carol was using the same when a 1.8 lber inhaled it in 20t o water, wind really blowing at 15-25 with gusts to 35. Moved downstream near horsecreek point but got blown o in the 3 ooters runnind down channel so ducked into baxter gulch or 2more, a 1.8 and a dink on an MGM #127 4 inch worm, these were inhaled, no taps, they really went ater them. Steve popped one more and we went back to their Silverthorn houseboat with the wind picking up even more. Dropped them o ater a lieing session and ran over into the McCloud and turned the corner into some 40 knot stu and 4 ooters, bounced my way back to Bailey cove, water up to 55 degrees, air temp around 53, very rough conditions with more to come and rain expected late riday and all day saturday, nobody doing the salmon at the dam due to unsae high wind conditions. the ish have backed o the shore a bit but plenty can be ound in the 13-25 t area, they were in the rocky stu today, nothing much up on lat mud spots as would be expected this close to the spawn.

      Water Temp: Felt cold

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I hit the south end last night or the last couple o hours o the day and I lost two solid ish beore I ever got to see them.I was using a crainkbait and you almost never loose a ish on a crankbait ater they grab hold o those treble hooks. Ater I changed to a dierent crank bait with BIGGER SHARPER hooks I did not have any more luck. I heard there was a good biteSaturday rom my reind (Davo),but the weather has changed and it was very chilly in my loat tube last night. I think alot othose ish in the shallows have moved or just are not bitting. The weather is supposed to remain winter like or the next ive daysso we will have to see what the ishes response will be. I will hit it again today or tommorrow and update.
      City: Livermore

Tips: I was up there Saturday trolling down at the dam or trout/salmon with my girlriend (instead o catching bass with Davo)and the water seemed alot more stained last night than it was Saturday. Overall since the weekend the water is colder and murky. Big change.

      Water Temp: 55-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I couldn't give a more dierent report than I gave last Friday i I tried! Talk about opposite conditions and type o bite - it was amazing! To give you an idea, when I let the dam at 5:30 pm, the air temp was 28 degrees cooler than Friday aternoon. We had terrible wind most o the day, and we just couldn't seem to get away rom it. And there was a little snow in the hills above Oroville last night. Did that eect the spotted bass - only the big ones. They seemed to be o the bite, but all the smaller ones wern't!!! I was guiding a ather and his 16 year old son, who had never really ished a deep lake beore, and they did quite well ater a while - in act, dad caught the two biggest - a 2-2 and a 2-4 spot. In spite o the wind, we did land over 50 bass, including an over-the-slot largemouth and 2 in-slot smallmouth. I was surprised that we wound up with 6 over the slot, but deinately not the quality o the last trip! We ish the middle ork our whole trip with the same Rodstrainer jigs and later I had the boy shakin' a 6" morning dawn Magic worm. He caught several doing that, including a 2 pounder. We ound the bigger ish on points and smaller ones in coves and cuts, thought we did see a 6+ largemouth looking or a nest site on the back o a creek. The only thing in common with last Friday was that the ish really turned on about 2 pm - luckly we had some sun. Boat control was stressul today, but it was worth it - happy camper clients!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The early jig bite was just pressure, but as the day warmed up, some o the bites were pretty exciting. I broke o a big ish on 12 lb test - should have retied more oten. You never know how big the next bite will be!!

Report: Launched out of Whiskey Slough. What a crappy ramp. Wonder what our $7.00 is going too. Anyways.... Headed out toward Middle River and was fishing by 8:00 am. Caught a bunch of lightweights on the tules and weed beds. Using a white spinner bait. Fished here and there to Woodward Canal. Boated a nice 6 lb 9 ounce blackie. Weighed it and let him go. Caught a few more 2 and 3 pounders and that was it. Total catch for the day 15. Breezy but tolerable.

Report: Fishing was decent except or all the boats rolling up on us shore ishermen. With such a big lake, why? It doesnt make a whole lot o sense with such a big lake and much better spots to ish. I I had a boat I wouldn't be wasting my time like that, I guess people dont know any better or are just plain rude. The next time I see a boat working a ish, I'm going to walk up on them rom shore, use live bait, and work the same ish just to see how they like it. Anyway, easy limits or those in the know, with this recent wind, all bets are o. There's a good moon, but like everything else, you wont know what to do until you get there...
      City: SF

Tips: Not much to it, bright colors o o lakeport ought to get you some, watchout or that aternoon wind

Report: This is not an April fools report!!!The fishes are biting. Fished in my float tube early, but not as early as the other three guys who had already beaten me there. Talked to them and they were fishing soft plastics. I was throwing a terminator buzzbait, and landed a fat 2 lber around vegetation. Wind started to pick up a little and couldnt buy a bite with the buzzer, so switched over to a Texas rigged baby brush hog, and was slaying them to death. Fished by a couple of guys in a boat who offered me some weed(you know who you are) but I wanted to concentrate on fishing. Well caught 7 fishes, the largest one going a solid and fat 5.5 on my stren digital scale. All fishes were shallow, was observing a dude fly fishing for crappie and he was killing them on every cast. well see ya on the lake, keep the dope at home though.
      City: san jose

Tips: baby brush hog worked from the shore out seemed to do well for me.
