Water Temp: High 70s
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Nicolo and I tubed Calero from about 9AM to 4:30PM. We found fish while split shotting 4" Green Weenies in 10'-20'of water. We also found fish along the mudlines on jigs. We landed 12 fish including a 6 pounder and two 4 pounders. All others were about a pound or so. Tight lines. -Brent
City: San JoseTips: Most fish were deep from the three consecutive dyas of miserable heat. So back off the shoreline, out past the weeds, and start dragging.
-
Water Temp: 79-81
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Brent and I float tubed 8AM - 4:30PM. It was very windy and VERY cold untill about noon. We worked the shoreline on the opposite side from the boat ramp. Frogs, spinner baits, and crankbaits were useless for us today. We did find a lot of fish though, and ended up with a 6 lber, two 4 lbers, and about 10 dinks.
City: Mountain ViewTips: For quantity, split shot green weenies in 15-25 feet of water, just about anywhere. All three of our large fish came on jigs, one in 20 feet, and the other two in 5-10 feet once a mude line from the water skiers had established. The big fish were all near heavy rock cover with some weeds.

Water Temp: 80's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Turkey NCBF Shoot, placed sixth by flippin Brown jig with Junebug Trailer in calm water all morning. Best 5 fish would of went 16-18lbs. Caught the fish in 1ft to 2ft of water. Was fishin off of old river (Cuts)
City: Castro ValleyTips: Waters starting to clear with no cloud cover throw brown jigs with Plastic trailer tight to tules or in them with 20lb line (you'll need it, he he). Worms color SP-20 or a Junebug/Pumkin made by Rainbow Worms

Clear Lake

Water Temp: 77-82
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished 6/28-6/30. Concentrated on the lower lake. Fish seemed to be on the outside corners (points) o spawning coves in 10-15 eet. No topwater in the morning. A ew hit very sotly in the evening hours on Ricos. No reaction bite either during morning or aternoon. Success came or us only dragging or casting worms (5" Iovino, Green Weenie Paddle Tails were best). No big ish. 2-5 lbs. Night bite good with 10" black Power Worms and black spinnerbaits.
City: San RamonTips: Most ish are in post spawn. One tip I have is to get amiliar with the downshot technique. Normal split shoting gathered weeds and algae on the worm. Downshoting allowed us to bring the worm 18" o the bottom producing more bitesand ar less problems. The bites are more aggressive with this technique as well. 8 lb test seemed to get more strikes, check the line or rays requently. Also, no need to use expensive brass and glass sinkers. Simple round split shot works great. Use whatever size needed to maintain good bottom contact.

Water Temp: ??
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the east shore, near the dam, as the sun went down; quickly turned to topwater, since the weed growth on the bottom was such a drag. Even my suspending jerkbaits got caught up in the muck. Had some *ferocious* attacks on my chrome/blue Chug Bug, but only got one all the way to shore. The fish didn't go for a Spook, Splash-It or buzzbait, but they sure went after the Chug Bug!
City: San JoseTips: Now's the time for some late-evening topwater action (in the morning, too, I'm sure; I just can't make it out then, during the week).

Water Temp: 78-85
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took the day off yesterday for some much needed R&R on the Delta. Skies were clear and blue and very warm when we launched. My guide trip this day wanted a summer jig lesson. We started of pitching brown jigs with a 164 Yamamoto twin tail, picked up a couple of real nice fish early including a 7+. All fish were cauhgt on deep wood structure. By 9:00, we changed patterns and went to fishing deeper as the surface temp was over 80 degrees. Noticed at about 10-15 foot depths, the temp was a cooler 68-72, depending on where we were at. We switched to a black jig with a Junebug twin tail and caught fish the rest of the day doing this through out the central Delta. A couple of keys were involved in locating these better fish. First we had to have little current. We fished deep weed lines next to tulles birms that had a flat adjacent to the drop. This area is used as a spawning ground for the bass as was evident by the number of schools of fry we saw. If there was no fry, we never got bit. We caught another over 7+ and a couple at 4-5, aong with many in that 2-3 pond range. Cooch

Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Just spent 4 days and did real well. The ish we patterned were post spawn & were between the docks in the tules just outside the spawning areas. We caught a 7.5, 6.5, a ew 5'sand a bunch o 4- 3.5s. The bass were not very aggressive until night time, we dumped a ew 10+ ish at night. The top water was rustrating because we would see 5 & 6# ish swim up behind and just check out the lure, and then go away. Mainly stayed down south or the deeper water. We did see a bunch o males gaurding nests, and even a ew bed ish, but I don't ish or them. The lures we used were baby brush hogs, and june bug worms, the topwater ish that we did catch came on Ricos. Watch or your line to move more than the thump that you usually get up there, even the night ish hit like bluegills. We did some rock pile ishing which did not produce to well or us and that was when we moved into the tules and ound our pattern.

Report: Fished after the CAST event. Caught 2 largemouth both on split shot purple ghost worms.
City: Citrus Heights -
Water Temp: 70+
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out with CAST for kids event. Only fished for an hour and a half in the late morning, but managed three largemouth - largest about 4 pounds. Ripped a dink and splitshotted the other two on 6# brown/green worm. Seemed like there was a strong bite going and I would like to have been able to fish longer. Fished the deep water dropoffs at the northeast end of the lake. Fish came in 20' of water.
City: Fair OaksTips: Fish are already into summer patterns...shallow reaction baits early on flats near deep water then find the nearest dropoffs next to the big flats and fish plastics or jigs slow on the bottom.

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished most o the day or Bass. Only caught two (both under 2lbs) but watched many swim by the boat. Saw a couple hawgs that had absolutely no respect or me or my tackle box at all. Caught one on a yellow and blue blade (aternoon) other on a blue 4" grub (morning). My son had un with the bluegill.
City: Pleasant HillTips: Try redworms or the bluegill, the bluegill are very small and don't seem to know what to do with a bit o' crawler.
